Why are moderators allowed to open up a locked post and reply and then re-lcok it? I thought the reason for the lock was so nobody else could reply and keep the thread alive. Seems to just be trying to cause more problems to me.

Most of the time we don't even realize it's been locked.  It's not that we mean to reply to lock threads.  Quake is already aware that the mods want to see something more obvious, but he's busy fixing other bugs right now.
