When I was a member on another board (it was an Alero/Grand Am site), you were able to manipulate the members list to search by years or by location.  It was interesting seeing how many people lived in your home state or in a city nearby.

Same thing with years of car, which is important here due to 40 yrs of cars. 
Possible breakdown:
64 1/2 through 73
74 through 78
79 through 86
87 through 93
94 through 98
99 through 04
05 +
