Better traction, less wheel hop, better straight-line acceleration, the ability to ditch the quad shocks and if you get adjustable ones, you can cater to whatever needs you have (drag, open-track, etc.)

but for a daily street car, isn't it better to just get the lower control arms and not waste your money on the uppers?  i just got the tail end of a conversation where they said that the uppers would just make the car worse for the daily street driving, but it could have just been his particular setup.  don't know so i thought i'de ask the question here.

you can throw BBK uppers and lowers on there and still have a street car. any aftermarket control arm with rubber/polyurethane bushings will help you. changing the uppers will not make your car handle worse, that doesn't even make sense to me. if you put something like southside machine uppers and lowers on the car with solid bushings, your ride will get a little more stiff and unforgiving because of the bushings alone.

So for a street car, (possible "once in a blue moon" street racer), these are not something to get?

I expect once I get back to Colorado and buy my winter beater, I'll be doing some nasty stuff to the '98 GT 'vert.  Then I'll probably run it at Bandimere.  All I really want is a quick car that owns it's own...  Mostly street driven to cruise the Rocky Mountain highways but the occasional track run.

Look at any of the companies that make control arms. Steeda makes some good ones. You really don't need adjustable control arms. IMO they're more of a PITA than they are worth. A good set of both uppers and lowers won't cost you more than $400 or so. They will be perfect for a daily street car. You're not going to wreck your car using those control arms.

I agree with Dan on this as well.. although if you are going to be doing alot of strip racing get adjustable uppers so you can set the pinion angle for optimum performance.

With that said you should also get adjustable lowers so that you can center up your rear end. I have both on my car. Also for the street do not get spherical bushings or you will hear a lot of clicking on the street
