Traction Master bars
«

Has anyone here tried the Traction Master Shelby style traction bars on their classic Mustang? I plan on putting them on the wife's 66 after we drop the Motorsport motor into it and subframe connectors. I am also going to be fabricating a set to go on another car with similar chassis design.

I had a similar setup on my 66. Which one are you refering to, the over ride, or under ride style bars? The one's I had where the under rides style and worked very well compared to the standard slapper bar.
Although a long, properly loaded slapper bar will make the car hook, but they were the springs out quick, it you adjust them way up and launch it hard!

Under riders. Never knew there was anything different.
In my Australian Falcon ring someone brought to my attention the bars in the pics below. They function the same way as the Traction Masters, only instead of having a virtually solid mount in the front (allowing for bushing movement) these are kinda like a slapper, but not quite. In the front the leaf goes between the two round parts so that the spring can move, then when it tries to twist under hard acceleration it stops the twisting motion of the spring and acts like a traction master bar.

yeah those are the cal trac bars. Buddy had them on his mustang and it made it hook pretty good. I'll try to get you a couple links to the over rides and the under rides. one was used on the early mustangs 64-66 and the other was used on the later shelbys. They both had solid mounts, but one attached to the top of the spring and the other attached underneath.
