Simple Question...

Just need confirmation....
last week I took my car in and had my front brake pads replaced. I still hear a chirping sound however. it goes away on occassion, particularly at slower speeds after i tap the brakes.
Is this a bad wheel bearing?

Hrmm, wheel bearing would be all the time and would be more noticeable at slower speeds and normally sounds like a rubbing sound not chirping....
If it's only happening after you tap the brakes, I think something else is going on.

I hate noises...can never really be sure where they're coming from. it's definately brake related. I'm wondering if they're lose.

It sounds to me like something is loose. The first thing I would check is the caliper.

I would be inclined to take it back to the shop and have them tell you why their new brake job is making noise.. Is the noise identical to what it was before the brake job?

no. it used to sound like a spring creaking very very loudly. now it's like a cricket on a warm night.

If it changed then I would say its something to do with the brakes, take it back to the people who did it and make some squeaking of your own..

I agree with Steve. Don't let this go. Get it fixed now, we don't want your calipers falling off when you're trying to stop!
