Well this is my latest project. Going to coilovers up front to improve ride and keep the tires out of the fender liners. Also changing the rear springs to keep balance and have the same brand at all four corners( H&R ) Super special thanks go out to our very own Gravel for giving me expert tutalidge on what will get me where I want to be. I have a pair of rates for the back so I can see what works and will go from there. Going with a 300lb coilover spring up front which should handle nicely but yet still ride well compared to the conventional spring configuration. Now I just need my coilover parts which should be here tommorrow and we can get on with this installation. Pics of the install and cars new stance(slightly higher) which will be adjustable now front and rear will be up hopefully this weekend.

Well peter since my 89GT is heading away from 50/50 street strip I am going to have to get to work on the BB coupe eh. I am trying to head more towards quick all around street car daily driver with the 89GT now. Although I will still take it to the track and race it a few times this year on drag radials. Just no skinnies anymore.

Well today I finally got my Coilovers done after waiting for parts for two weeks. FU D&D. Doing the coilovers was a breeze. Had the fronts done in an hour. Would have been quicker but I had never done them before. Ended up using an X2C coilover kit with 300lb H&R coilover springs. Out back we went with an H&R race spring. Had the rears done in record time. Under 20 minutes and the wheels were back on lol. Driving impressions. Well I almost s*** my pants lol. It is awesome front and rear. I was a little nervous about controling those springs with 2 year old KYBs but they are fine for now. I simply cannot afford a 600 dollar set of adjustables right now. I'm happy. A special thanks goes out to Gravel for giving all the solid advice on what springs to run. This is the new ride height. I went up about a 1/4 inch in the back and I went up 3/8s inch in the front. The car also has a full load of fuel in it which changes the back a bit. The old look with the prokits. Too low in the front (drags on every f***ing thing) and I have to run it high in the rear to keep it from bottoming becuase of the SN95 rear axles width. You'll have to excuse all the dirt lol, I do live in washington and it rains here.

Looks Good Steve. I've got some Q1A aluminum struts, coilovers (250 lb), tubular A-arms for the front of the 89. I just need to get the tubular K member. I scored them on Summit's Scratch and dent/clearance. They were on a display rack! I paid 300 for the pair of struts, 50 for the coilover kit, and 75 for the A-arms. I think I walked out there a thief! How do the 300 lb springs ride/feel handle? I thought the 250's I had would be way too stiff. Love that stance!

How do the 300 lb springs ride/feel handle? I thought the 250's I had would be way too stiff. Love that stance! Well I lowered the front down another 3/8s inch and still no dragging like it did with the prokits in and it looks better. The stance now is closer to the old pic above. I also lowered the back down some more. In some respects I wish I would have gotten 350s for the front but I would need to dampers to make that switch. The ride is quite pleasant with the 300s.

Well I think that H&R produces the finest no sag and no settling springs on the planet. I have a couple thousand miles on this combo already and am quite happy. I did put the blue supersports in the rear and kept the 300s up front. This produced a more balanced ride over having the red race springs in the back. The car will not be optimal untill I get a better set of dampers on there. Will be going with Tokicos lluminas.
