I am looking for general info on lowering springs. I love the look and performance aspects of lowered Stangs. Everyone advertises they lower 1.5- 2 inches. What determines how much it lowers. I have a vert. some say all models excluding convertibles and others say including convertibles. I know it will drop the rear like .5 more on a vert...would it be messed up if I just lowered the front? I already have an issue if I hit a good bump or speed bump a little fast with the axle hitting the 2 1/2 inch exhaust. Plus the 10 1/2 rims and 315s on the rear might bite the fender. I am including a few pics for reference to the wheel well gap front and rear and also how much the back tires stick out. Oh…and I also use the car to pull a utility trailer w/2 crotch rockets for me and my wife. Thanks for the advise...

Contact Gravel, (steve) he works for H&R, he can tell you what springs will work for you.

I'm running Steeda Sport springs on my Cobra vert and I'm satisfied with them. In comparison to Eibachs, they are a little softer.

H&R all the way! I've had them on the car for about four years I would guess they have approximately 75000 miles on the Springs and they are just as good as the day I put them in in fact with the recent suspension upgrades I have installed I'm really starting to get the most out of my H&R Springs. This is the second car I have used them on the first was in 1968. You can check out their web site at www.hrsprings.com I'm very satisfied with the way they have performed on both vehicles I don't plan on ever using any other type of spring. For my money It's H&R all the way.

Anyone have any ifo on Roush springs? They are the only ones I found that lower 1.5 in the front and .75 in the back. I feel like I would be happy with that and know Rouch puts out quality products.

You can check with Gravel on this one but I'm almost 100% sure that H&R do the Springs for Roush. If you can do the struts and shocks at the same time and if you're doing this spring install your self don't forget to clock the Springs that means to make sure that the Springs are seated the same on each side in the rear and the same on each side in the front which the front is pretty hard to screw up as the spring sets in the pocket. Good luck Jeff

as far as I've seen H&R cost more than the Roush I found at Hillbank Motorsports. Loweres the front 1.5 and rear .75...b/ct heard vert may be lower on the back for $217 shipped.

Maximum motorsports has the Springs for $229 which is just a bit more than you said from the other place. These are H&R springs they lower the front 1.75 inches in the back 1.6 inches the part number is 51652.77 -- 2 I would check out their web site that's maximum motorsports.com and look at the compression rating of the Springs in inch pounds and compare them to what you are looking at on the other web sites I do believe that H&R makes the Springs for Roush although I am not 100% certain but from the cars I've worked on in the cars I own I would not use anything else other than H&R. Good luck Jeff

OK...well after a long search and comparo, I ended up going with the H&R Super Sport (51652.77). They suposedly lower the front 2.0in and the rear 1.5in. To me it looked like the back was already a little lower than the front, and I like the look of the front slightly lower than the back (ie. MarcinHawii). Thanks for the help ppl.

I have motorsport c springs (stay with H&R) and the fender on my 87 sits at the top of the front tire, and the rear is slightly raised. I think it looks mean.. I hope my coupe turns out like that.
