Well, at some point in time I need to install my springs on my mustang this winter. What all do I need? How hard is it? Should I replace anything else while doing it? I haven't messed with springs before so I'm a noob.

"All you need is a pair of jackstands and a floor jack. Hand tools for the control arm bolts." That doesn't help much.  Do you guys have any more details that I might need during this process? I plan on putting my new springs on this weekend and I would like to have as much information as possible.  |

Oh yea, I've been using one.  I started off this morning trying to get the driver's side off (where I left off 2 weekends ago.) After about 30 mins of no progress I switched sides and started working on the passenger's side. 1 1/2 hour later I had the passenger's side spring installed with no issues. I then thought to myself that something was odd, the driver's side seemed much tighter then the passengers..... Looking at the bolt I was able to remove from the driver's side, I noticed red "threadlock".....  WTF!!! Ok guys what helps take off red threadlock? |

So I bought a torch and heated the bolt till it was red still no go..... then I tried the nut on the back of the bolt, like butter it comes off, but now I can't get the bolt to back out of the hole. The damn head still will not move it put the nut back on the bolt and was even hitting it with a hammer, NOTHING. This bolt is evil. I'm taking a 10 minute break right now, you guys have any thoughts?

Control arm bolt....
I think there is something wrong with it. I went back out and heated it up about 3 more times (each time letting it cool down) and was hammering the s*** out of it, it will not move at all. I then hooked up the impact and tried forward and backwards with the impact. (because there is no nut on the back) I noticed the control arm would move with the bolt when hitting it with the impact. I also remember that when I was taking the nut of the back of the bolt I didn't need anything to hold the bolt in place. This is really pissing me off. I have all 3 springs installed, this one bolt which doesn't even have a nut on the end of it now will not move. WTF

What about removing the strut, unbolting the sway bar link, and lowering the a-arm?  |

I think that's what I'll end up doing. I'm tried of messing with this bolt. It will be next weekend before I can get around to it, I'll keep you guys updated.

Thats how Ive always done it, cause everytime I put springs in, I do the struts/shocks too. Definetly keep us updated, we'll help you get your car back on the road. |
