The ones I'm looking at are Part Number 51651.77. I've waited 9 years to lower this car, and these are pretty much the ones I have to have. I saw them on a car that belongs to my buddy, and they look to be exactly what I need (my car sits so high it isn't even funny!). I'm running 90/10s and 50/50s, so hopefully, this won't hinder my launching ability too bad. Feedback?

I used to run the 51650.88 springs in my car. The springs lowered my car enough for my tastes. The ride quality was decent with the Koni shocks and struts, and it also handled pretty well.

The ones on my car are the 51651.77 but they are listed as 51658.77 for the '98 GT verts.  But they are 51s (stamped on the springs)...  The drop was about 1-3/4" in the front and 1-1/2" inch in the rear.  Probably would have been more but I also put in urethane isolators.

www.Howbarmotorsports.com has them for a really good price.

Hey GDawg, are both your front and back springs stamped with number 51651.77 Huh  I just received my box H&R box with number 51658.77 on it but inside I have 2 front 51652.77F and 2 rear 51651.77R  .  I have to know if this is normal before I install them but I can't get the info anywhere.  If you can, please let me know.  Thanks.

Ok before I jump up and down for joy, I just have to be sure I understand what your saying.  So the number on my box is 51658.77 which I know is ok but on the front springs the number is 51652.77F and on the rears it is 51651.77R so front and rear are diffrent numbers but that is NORMAL  Shocked Huh?

Yep, fronts and rears are often not the same.

I`ve heard so many diffrent opinions.  Some say that all 4 should be the same only diffrence being F for front and R for rear.  I`m glad Gravel could confirm that I have the right ones.  Why would H&R call the kit number 51658.77 if there are 4 of the 51651.77 in the box?  Why wouldn`t they just call it 51651.77 instead.  That`s what had me all messed up.  I was expecting 51658.77 to be stamped on all 4 springs.  This has been a confusing situtation let me tell you.  Thanks again to Gravel and all of you for helping out.  Great forum.

Simple answer to this question... Laugh

51658-77 is the "Kit Number", it may take diff springs to make up the "kit". Why use a diff number then the non convertable? Because the convertible lowers diff then the coupe. So to make the separation, a diff kit number is used.. In the case of having diff numbers front and rear, that is not uncommon at all but in this case it is usually the same number front and rear. But you received a kit with diff front and rear numbers, that is because the 51651-77f and 51652-77f have exactly the same specs and colors with the only diff being the stamping on the spring. Soooo when we ran out of 51651-77f springs, instead of putting them on back order, we substitute the 51652-77f springs that we still had in stock....

Think that should clear it up... Grin

We had this conversation on another board (I'm sure it was you that I was talking to).  Afterwards I went and climbed under my car to confirm that all four of my springs were indeed stamped 51651.77 (with R for rear and F for front).  I even took a couple pictures of them with their stamps on my car. (But I don't have those pics here at work)

But like Gravel said, they may replace one set for another for whatever reason.  He works for them so he should know.
