Any ideas?

I want to pull the front suspension (going tubular before the swap), but still need to move the car for sandblasting, etc.

I was thinking about jackstands on wheel dollies (possibly welded on), but see bad things happening with that..

Maybe fab a brace where the K member attaches and use a floor jack from there?

You can't just leave the stock k member on and use a floor jack?

On the subframe connectors?

Guess I "have" to buy a nice jack now to match my crappy - Craftsman special - jack....    Banging head on wall     Grin

I am looking for other alternative solutions, as well...

What are some strong casters?  Front end can't weigh much with no motor, fenders, suspension, etc....

Stocker is coming off to finish welding and smoothing the engine bay...

Also, don't want to put new suspension on right away (tub K, tub. A, SN95 Spindles, coilovers, struts, 5 lug suspension = new wheels and tires, etc. etc. etc.)

On second thought, you could probably find a set of those wheel dollies that tow trucks use and modify them to fit nicely under the subframe connectors.  The front of that car can't be that heavy with all of that removed.  I am thinkng no more than 500 lbs or so.

Crazy idea  Grin :

A friend of mine had a similar problem when restoring his car. He picked up an old soild rear axle at a wrecking yard and put in under the front of the car.

But I donīt know if this works with a Mustang. His car was an old Mercedes.
Disadvantage: Thereīs no way to steer. Car only moves in straight line.

put the stock k member in with 2 bolts...1 on each side....hand tight. it aint going anywhere. move the car with a floor jack. take said k member off...no wrenches (remember finger tight??). once you move the car to your desired spot, put it on jackstands

done

you will go through too much trouble w/o the k member in there. its a good, solid central place to jack the car from. and a lot less risk of the car falling and destroying your front fenders/side skirts

You guys do things the hard way.

Go to Golds or World Gym and find a couple steroid monkeys.  Convince them it's a great alternative to deadlifts and it will change up their boring routine.  Give them each a protein bar for their troubles and you're done.
