hey
I I'm going to drop my 93 LX and I was wondering if I could get the old front springs out without a compressor. I'm putting a Eibach pro system plus on it. Also could I get the new springs in without too much difficulty. The new springs are about an inch shorter. Thanks for any help.

ok.. first.. safety..

 to remove the front springs,
1. put the front of the up on jacks stands... remove the wheels.
2. once the wheels are removed, put the jack under the ball joint and jack up about two pumps. to ease some of the tension on the strut.
3. remove brake caliper, and sway bar end link and secure.
4. remove two strut bolts holding strut to spindle. take caution and make sure the jack is very secure..
5. once the strut is rmoved from spindle, very slowly lower jack, ( stand clear of the wheel well in case the spring decides to pop..)
6. once the jack is lowered all the way, the spring should ready to come out and the control arm should almost be pointing at the ground.
7. once the spring it out and you're ready to reinstal the new one, put the jack under the control arm again, in the same spot (under the ball joint). then pump once sometimes twice.
8. seat the new spring in perch. ( at this point you'll notice what a pain it is to keep the spring in the perch, you need to get a BIG pry bar (sears has the three foot ones) and while slowly jacking up the control arm, manuver the spring in to location with pry bar..(this will prove to be a pain in the ass but it works) take caution becuase there will be tension on the spring, once the spring is sitting correctly, reinstall all the other components you remove, starting with the strut..

I hope this helps, as it's the best I can do over the net.

Everything said above is correct but, you can leave the strut connected. At least I did and had no problems.
