On my 90 Lx I've got new Tokico built Cobra/Mach1 struts. Unfortunately I got a wrong part number so instead of getting matching springs I ended up getting regular GT springs. I'd like to get the HR super sport springs as they are similar in rating to the Mach/Cobra springs. Has anyone tried these or know of someone that has?

Thanks,

I contacted the guy at stangsuspension.com, he claims there are a lot of people with new mach1 using HR supersport springs with good results.

While I have heard of several people who are happy with this setup, I do not have personal experience with it. Also the ones that I have seen do not have cross experience so I do not know how it would stack up against a SS and Bilstein combo..

Looking at the spring rates of the SS springs and what the Mach 1 struts are designed for I'm thinking it'll work, guess there's only one way to find out.  Wink

I did get the H+R Supersport springs in and it rides real good, although I don't really care for how soft the rear spring is, even with a nearly empty tank the rear sits lower then the front.

H&R SS springs sit the car lower than race springs and have a s***tier ride than the race springs.

Race springs don't have the too-low stance, the ride is firm, but better than the SS springs, and the car will handle better with race springs.  Don't let the word "race" scare you off; they are perfectly suited for a street Mustang combined with Bilstiens.
