What is the best way to convert the front and back to 5 lug with discs on all four?

Thanks for the information.  I posted this before I read through the other posts out there.  Smiley

Spindles, calipers, rotors, hoses, Huh?  Everything just bolt right up ?  Anything I'm missing ..Is it the right  or left axle out of a ranger?

This information is floating around the net. I have a link to Matt's website that is some good info.

To do the basic 4 wheel discs, and 5 lug from the newer mustangs, here is the list of what you will need:

94-95 Mustang spindles, hubs, rotors, and calipers.  The 99+ PBR single piston calipers are the better units and will bolt to the 94-98 spindles.
* the 96-98 spindles can be used, but they will push the wheel out 8mm (about 5/16) on each side.  This becomes an issue when running 17x9" wheels. the 99+cars have something differant that I'm not sure if they will work or not.
The spindles will bolt right on, but will require a 0.330 spacer on the balljoint, under the spindle.  I needed ball joints when I did my swap, so I installed 94/95 ball joints into the fox arm.  The sn-95 brake hoses are needed also. One side of mine bolted right up to the hard line, and the other side, I needed a 2 dollar adapter from Vatozone.

* another side note, the front and rear brakes on 94/98 cars are all the same parts between V8 cars and 6 cyl cars.  Keep this in mind when scouring the slavage yards.  One yard I called wanted $110 a side for a GT setup and $60 for the V6.  Go figure!

94-98, axles, calipers, rotors, pads, caliper mounts, and the rear brake hose. The rear end is 1.5 inches wider than the fox. Even if you use the axles in the fox housing it will still be 1.5"s wider.  Keep this in mind if using 9" wide wheels.  A differant offset will be needed to keep the tires from rubbing on lowered cars.  It doesn't seem to be an issue on the * wheels.

When I did mine, I used the complete rear end from a 95 GT, it already had gears in it and I didn't have to worry about the brackets and whatnot. The 99+ rears are about 1.5 inches wider than the already wide 94-98 cars.

The rear brake hose bolted right up to my existing lines.

The M/C from the newer car is prefered, and you'll need one of Matts prop valve adapter fitting to make it work.  I used my stock booster.  The ebrake cables are going to be the tricky part of the swap. I still don't have the ebrake hooked up on the 89.  93 cobra cables can be used.

Thank you very much.  This is more information in one post than I have got (sp) in several posts on other sites.
Again that you very much.  Now I can feel confident about the swap and not feel as if I have left something out.

No problem...we are all one big happy family.  the problem with the internet and all the other sites is that there are so many internet racers that have just read things and don't know anything cause they have never done it.  I kinda dove into my 89 about 3 years ago, when not a lot of people knew how to do the complete setup, or the info wasn't readily available.  Kinda learned alot of things firsthand....Just to add, I don't know everything, so I'm not trying to come off like a d***!  I do like the cobra setup a little better though, looks 10x better behind a nice set of wheels and stops awesome!

yes it will. The dust cap can get in the way with some wheels.  that link Steve posted should have some wheel combo's or suggestions in it.

You can use ranger axles and SN brakes on the rear without the expensive adapters. I did it a few years ago and put the info up on another site, before I knew about BAM. http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=446998
