Has anybody out there tried a 315 35 17 on the 9"J rim and if so are there any issues such as wear, leaking, rubbing and so on?  Will the tire/rim combo fit under the rear of a 2002 GT with stock suspension?

Thanks!

What tire? I've "heard" that Nittos will work, as they are narrower then a regular 315. INterested to see what you find out as I was thinking of putting the 315 Nittos I have from the blue car onto the 9" bullets on my LX when the tires I currently have on there wear out.

There are a lot of things you can do, but probably shouldn't.  This falls into that category IMO.  That tire doesn't belong on a 9" rim.

If you go on tirerack.com it'll tell you the recommended rim width for each size tire. With a 315 it'll most likely be from 10"-11" or thereabouts.
