If you own a Kenne Bell you're probably tired of losing boost due to belt slippage but I was reading through their catalogue today and I saw that they now offer a ribbed belt upgrade W00t!  They only have 99 and up listed but it's a start.  Does anyone know if they have a 5.0 kit yet?

People with the 03-04 cobras have used the ribbed pulley for their car. South Florida pulley sellls them. They say they aren't any better they just tear up the belt even more

Damn that sucks.  Why would it do that?  Every other company has a ribbed design that seems to work?

The best thing to do is use the biggest combo of crank and blower pulley possible. I use a stock cobra crank and a 2 3/4 blower pulley with a goodyear gatorback belt (which is ribbed), and I don't see much slip at all. I even run 15#s occasionally with a stock GT crank and the same blower pulley with minimal slip. I've been thinking about getting another idler pulley from K.B. so I can make a new snout bracket with 2 idlers, similar to what is available for the 03' cobras. With 2 idlers you could really put the squeeze on the blower pulley, for max belt wrap.

That's not a bad idea at all.  I drilled/ tapped another hole to have more belt contact area, but that sounds even better!

Yeah I've drilled and tapped too. I think from eyeballing it, we should be able to use the new tapped hole for 1 pulley, and use the hole on the far drivers side that mounts to the old coil bracket for the second pulley. Or just move them around to whichever holes give the most wrap, without the belt hitting anything else. I haven't gotten a price on the pulley yet, but it shouldn't be that much. I can't believe I just said that something from Kenne Bell wouldn't be much money. What was I thinking.?

The giant pulley combo deal works wonders on KB Cobras. On my buddy's we use a 8 pound lower and  a 3.8 upper. It works significantly better than  the stock lower and 2.8 upper we used before.

Regarding the spiked/toothed uppers, they just shred the hell out of the belts and pollute the engine compartment with tons of rubber dust. Not too great in my book.
