hey, wow im on a mustang forum... weird. i drive a 91 z28, yea yea i kno third gen... but its a nice one, 65000 miles, crate motor and 6 speed, efi, looking to go turbo, but anyways my little sister (almost 17) has a 98 gt vert, flowmaster 40's and an h-pipe, a4 trans, 4.6L with all of the power options, aftermarket roll bar, leather, but not removable hard top, it has just shy of 50000 miles, its dark red metallic with tan interior, and she wants to modify it to be faster and look better just like we all do, so she came to me for help, so i'm on here to learn what i can and ask some questions, since im gonna be helping her out, i picked up a 1994 gt coupe with the 5 liter with 65000 on it, all stock, from a friend for next to nothing because it was just taking up space in his garage, so while im doin one stang, might as well build myself one too right?  plans so far are CIA, headers (dont know WHERE to begin, shorts, long tubes, how well do they tuck? and get some high flo mufflers.  i have heard that the a4 is a crap transmission for an auto? could be wrong just asking! but im still planning shift kits, but not manual valve bodies.  how much is to be had from computer tuning in these cars without actual engine mods?  high power ignition system, lighter wider tires, thats about all i have though of so far without major work being done.  gears are in the future. 4 valve heads for the 98 will gain huge power? is that right? and of course doin cams, street able but still aggressive.  on the intake side, is there any porting work that can be done to open up the plenum? or does it flow well in stock form? and suggestions/opinions are appreciated, like brands for parts, what works what doesn't on these cars, like i said im new to fords, and would like to have a plan to start with

Welcome to the site. Wink

You sure did ask a lot of questions in your "new guy" thread but, I'm sure the members on here would be happy to help.

I have a few things I can comment on, even though I do not own an 98 or 94.

"4 valve heads for the 98 will gain huge power? is that right?"... To my knowledge, yes. Maybe someone here and provide more details.

"how much is to be had from computer tuning in these cars without actual engine mods?".. Engine and Computer tuning will help the car. I've just put a custom chip (with the help of a member on here) in my 90gt, it really helped out. If you get a chip that can data log, you can tweak the engine a lot. PM David Claflin on here. Wink
