Everyone,
I've been doing some thinking about this get together ... and I have some real concerns about drinking at the park in the afternoon, then us DRIVING across town to attend a cruise-in. I'm not so sure that is a good idea.
So, I'm thinking one of two things need to happen:
1) Either no drinking - or very minimal at most - during the BBQ at the park, or 2) Cancel going to the cruise-in and we figure out something else to do during the early evening.
Honestly, I don't want to play "babysitter," and watch how much y'all are drinking. We're adults and I think we all know how to act responsibly.
I need some imput - Do we want to go to the park and spend the day there, then go mini-golfing? If we do that, unless we close up early at the park, we won't have time to go to the cruise-in. However, no alcohol is permitted at the putt putt course, so by the time we are finished there (if we leave the park early), I think everyone *should* be OK to drive across town to the cruise-in.
Another note: Anyone who is coming but isn't getting a hotel room - PLEASE bring an air mattress, sheet & pillow. I'll make room for you to stay at my house. I'd much rather we all be crowded for a night then for y'all to be out driving home when you shouldn't be.
*Is someone bringing a volleyball? We're gonna need one, since the park does have a volleyball court.

Oooh, I love volleyball. Hopefully someone can bring one, I don't know what they'd think about an air pump in my carry-on. As far as the drinking goes, it really doesn't matter to me, I'm not a big drinker (despite what Steve and Andy'll tell you), and I can go an afternoon without alcohol. I'll gladly drive anyone's Mustang who needs to drink.

I'm not a big cruise in person....putt putt, pool, bowling etc...sounds like more fun. I rarely drink more than a couple beers or mixed drinks when I'm away from home. If I get hammered, it's in my own town and usually less than a block from my house so I can stumble home and not worry about driving Although...I could have used a designated walker the other weekend....I came close to passing out in the street and my front yard several times

I don't mind skipping the cruise in and opting for bowling instead.
The only thing is for that is that I'm trying to keep expenses down and bowling is not cheap. That would add about another $20 or so to everyone's tab.
Unless, we skip putt putt (knocking off $9 from the "budget")

Not a big drinker here either. I can take it or I can leave it. Prefer not to have anyting in me if I'm driving. Wife isn't supposed to at all, so I'm covered either way, lol.

If it's nice, putt putt sounds more fun than bowling to me. Either way, I'm sure we'll have a blast!

OK, then we'll stick to putt putt. The "range" at Congo River is fun, it's got hills & caves and stuff. It's not a flat (boring) little course. Any thoughts on rearranging the day and playing putt putt in the afternoon as opposed to the morning?

Drinking or not I don't care. After this weekend I may not drink for a while. I will more then likely be riding with 'RICE" as he wanted to drive if I didn't have my car done. I can bring a Volleyball. Putt-putt is fine with me.
Robin I forgot your address b/c I deleted all my pm's. If you could please get back to me so I can get mine and "Rice" get get his money to ya. Thanks chris

Chris,
We'll take care of the money on Saturday. I'm planning on collecting from everyone when we get to the park.

North Orlando area. Actually, the park we are going to is on the Volusia County side of the St John's River.
