Gary,
We haven't set a definite date yet. However, my preference is to have it on Saturday, July 23rd.  No one has said which day they prefer, so unless I hear otherwise from more than one person, I'm going to go with the 23rd.

Here's my proposal:

Saturday a.m. - Congo River in Altamonte Springs  (www.congoriver.com) for putt putt golf. They open at 10 a.m.  It's $8.95 per adult

Then, around noon or so, we'll need to find a grocery store and buy food/supplies for a cookout and  head a little north to Lake Munroe Park in Debary.  We can rent a pavillion for the day for $35.00 plus tax & a $25 refundable cleaning deposit. (But I'll need to know for sure if we want to do that so that I can pay the fees & reserve the pavillion ahead of time) They allow alcohol there - beer in cans or wine in a box. (byob) They do not allow glass bottles or hard liquor.  They have a volleyball court, a nature trail, fishing, and a boat dock (if anyone has a boat and wants to drag it along for the day.)  I'll have to get back with the web address.

We have to be out of there 30 minutes before the park closes, which will be at sunset. (whatever time that is ... it will be posted at the entrance of the park). Then, we can either head over to East Orlando to the Perfection Performance cruise-in or we can head back south to Old Town. However, we will not be able to participate in the "show" at Old Town since someone said Saturday is their classics show.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where to find out any information on paintballing. So, if someone can help me there, maybe we can do that in the morning instead of putt putt golf.

What are you going to S.A. for? (I think I read why but I am to lazy to search)

Paintballing and golf sound good.  I can do some research and find out about any courses in the area. I will also make a mental note to be on heathers so I don't get shot up too bad.  Smiley

for work....i will be in cordoba, argentina and then santiago, chile....but between the 2 cities the show goes to beunas arias(sp)....we are not needed in B.A. because they have their own ice arena so it's not decided yet if we will go w/ the show to B.A. or be flown home to florida for those 2 weeks and then back out to chile or just travel with the show

Robin, talk to Chris about paintball.  I may be wrong, but I think he mentioned his kids are into that.  I'm sure he would know places.

So ... would y'all rather go paintballing instead of having a cookout?

The 17th is about the only day that works for me.  We will be returning from summer camp on the 16th and the following weekend is a campout at Enclote Island on the Gulf Coast.

How about we have a cookout on the paintball field, and the chefs carry golf clubs?

Does anyone have any connections to a print shop or something?   I'd love to have a BAM banner to display at this get together.

Being the resident old guy, I'm going to vote for putt-putt over paintball.  My bad back with a herniated disk would not hold up very long in a paintball game.

Yeah, I'll just get really covered up and stand in the middle of a field so all you guys can shoot me...  Somehow I think that will work for most of you.   LOL

I have two paintball guns that will reliably do full auto at about 15 rounds per second.  I'd be up for the Putt Putt thing though too provided I can juggle some stuff on my schedule to make it happen.  Is the last weekend in July any better.  If so I may be able to host it at my place.  I've got a pool and parking.

All I know is my Schedule is rather flexable, and I'm up for anything. So I'm just gonna do some whoring in this thread.

Chris,

One of our German members,  TTCT50, is going to be here from the 16th of July and he said he could stretch out his time here through the following weekend.  I picked the 23rd because I'd rather go to the Perfection Performance cruise-in that night than the MidFL Mustang cruise-in on the 16th.  There will be more cars at the PP cruise-in, plus the that club is more fun to hang out with.   (they *still* like to tease me about taking my own wine coolers when we used to meet at Hooters!  lol )

However!  If you want to host a BAM party at your house the following weekend, I'm sure we can put something together for us local folks.  Wink

The rest of you -
I prefer putt putt and a cookout to paintball. But if the consensus ends up being paintball, I'll be glad to hang out and supervise!  lol

You don't have the balls to even try it.  Wink

Get it? haha... ok yea that sucked.  Undecided

Maybe the crowd that wants to play paintabll can while the others can set everything up for the cookout so when we come back battered and bruised we can eat and rest.  LOL

Actually, I wouldn't have a problem with that.  Set me next to a grill with a cold beer in hand and I'm a happy puppy...   Grin

Actually, that is a good idea ... both the part about those of us who won't paintball setting up at the park ... and the cold beer!   The park we are going to does allow beer in cans.

Also, I just received confirmation that Perfection Performance's cruise-in for July will be on the 23rd.  Once I have a better count of who's coming & how many vehicles, I'll let them know. Shoot! We may even be able to recruit some new BAM members from that club!   Grin

Something else to think about - how much is this going to cost?  Well, putt putt is $8.95 pp (probably plus tax, too), the pavillion will be $37 (I'll put up the $25 refundable cleaning deposit), and then there's the cost of the food and sodas for the cookout.  Everyone should supply their own beer or wine.   I have no idea how much paintball will cost.  And, of course, there is no charge to participate in the cruise-in. I'll need to know how many people will be attending so that I can work out a realistic food budget.

So, plan on paying for putt putt and/or paintball and your beer or wine.  It would be nice if everyone would chip in a few dollars toward the pavillion rental and then probably between $5 & $10 for food.  And, don't forget about gas for your cars!  The cruise-in will be at Donato's, which is a pizzeria type restaurant, so if you're hungry, you can get something to eat there.

Does this sound fair to everyone?

Sounds good to me.  I can send you money for the pavillion and food when ever you need it. Will $20 be good or would you need more? Just pm me your address. I will bring PLENTY of beer.  Beer

SOUNDS GREAT! Paintball, you all might be in some trouble! With 8 years military background and built up frustration from Iraq. You all might get shot up with paintballs!  LOL Golf would be fun to. Calmer environment and a better chance to get to know one another.
If you send me a PM I'll get some money in the mail to ya. Just give me an address.

I am stationed in Germany and have been here for 4 years and finaly coming back to our home land. So are we looking at the 23rd of July? If so, then I will let my folks back home  that I will be delayed a couple days. It will be worth it though! Have some fun, meet some new people, and then drive homeward.
