There used to be a guy named Scott who ran in the NMCA with a chevy powered orange Fox notchback, and everybody hated him. Mainly because he always won, it was a good combo, and did its job, if its dumb and it works its not dumb. Anybody else remember that?

That's my buddy Scott Budisalich. He's from just across the river in Decatur, AL. It's worth noting that Scott won ALOT of races with a Ford motor in that car too when he was in EZ street. After he stepped up to Real Street, he swapped to Chevy because him and his buddy Jeff Chandler already had the parts to build a high winding chevy motor laying around. That was simple economics.

If you don't remember Jeff's car, here's a refresher course:

Jeff used to be the service manager at the dealer me and Hubcap buy all our Fords from!

Thats the guy, very nice guy too. I knew his last name started with a B, and it was odd. He's gone back to a Ford motor now too I've heard, but he really cleaned up with that combo. And see he worked at a Ford dealership and still put a Chevy motor in his car, why? Because thats what its about! Taking what you have and making it work. My grandfather built a 32 Ford on 28 rails with a 330 Olds in it hooked to a 40 Merc tranny tied to a Halibrand rear, huffed by a GMC 6-71. Why? Because it was what he could get in his budget to acomplish his goals. We still have that car, and it runs like a raped ape! But for some reason that one doesnt bother anyone like the LS1 Fox, or Scott's car, why is that? Because they are new? I think a Fox with a 500 Caddy would be a real hoot, and why not? There are plenty of four cylinder LX's about. Anyway, I guess I'll never get how some people can be so brand loyal that they are blind to anythin else cool.

To clarify a few points...

He is indeed a very nice fellow.
Scott is an Engineer, Jeff works at the dealership.
They have both temporarily retired from drag racing to try their hand at circle track stuff.

Carry on!

All I can say is "At least they didnt put in a Slopar engine". I cant for the life of me understand WHY someone would want to do that to a nice innocent mustang, but whatever floats their boat I guess.

I've seen ford 302's into RX7's and into 280Z's, so why not a 350 into a mustang? Hell, moreons have put 350's into everything else...I myself have plans in the distant future to put a FORD 302 into a camaro. I just want to do it to piss off the Chevy guys...Of course it will be a junkyard engine and soon after I do it, I will definatly drive it off a cliff....but hey...I just wanted to do it to be different. Heck, there's a guy down the street with a 56 Ford F-100 with a Slopar 440 in it. Most God aweful sight I've ever had the displeasure to see.
