get one  Grin

shifting feels great despite reports of a notchy feel.  Awesome 2nd and 3rd gear ratios (closer), tighter shift pattern, and finally the "race car" noisey transmission we've all dreamed of  Tongue

How long have you had it? Have you had the chance to beat the hell out of it yet? I'm looking for a good T5 replacement, and while I've read good things about Tremec, I've never actually talked with someone who has one.

Ive had it for the entire summer....probably 5000 miles?

So far Ive put idk.... 25 drag radial passes on it every single one either speed shifted or power shifted.  I'm launching at 4k, WOT, and shifting at like 5600.  Depending on the power you plan on making....you may want to get a TKO.  The nice thing about a 3550 is that its basically a replacement for the T5.  The clutch remains the same, the driveshaft is the same, the stock mounting hardware KINDA works, and there are not modifications needed to fit the thing in the tranny tunnel.

Take out the T5...knock the ends down on the mount, toss the 3550 up there, go.

Well...I will say that I dont have reverse lights now though Smiley Smiley  Thats only cause the one that came with the tranny was fubar and I havent bought a new one.  Who the f*** needs a reverse light anyways?
