Yep, clutch disk it definitely tapered... by about 0.01 inch. I'll post up specifics later.

I read that completely differently than you do. The difference they are speaking of is the bearing that retains the input shaft in the front of the case, they are not speaking anything of the splines on the shaft in that statement.
Yep, I forgot to post that up after I found out.

I think this is the issue...
This is what we suspected in the first place.

I didn't need any fancy graph to tell you the same thing... The thing fits one way but not the other, there is no freaking doubt that its tapered... Someone is feeding you a load of horse s***, plain and simple.

Cara and her graphs. You should make a new graph showing the time you wasted doing that, versus fixing your car.

I am still absolutely amazed that they sent you back the original one after you sent it in... It did not fit the first time, what the f*** made them think it would fit the second time... McLeod next time...

The car is not running yet. The POS k-member is just manufactured poorly. Not only won't the motor mounts sit parallel on the k-member mounts, the front holes are too far forward, and the rear holes are too far back. Should have bought a MM instead of a QA1. Anyway, with Chris's help (my back is effed right now), we managed to move the engine to the front mounting holes and connect the driveshaft. The shifter hits the body because it is too far forward, but I will grind that back a bit. Underneath the car is almost done, I have to install the starter and h-pipe and straighten up the exhaust, then it can come off jackstands. I still have quite a bit of work to do in the front. The P/S pump won't work- the fitting is in the wrong place, and AZ doesn't carry one that fits a 94/95. I have to finish rewiring a couple things, including the W/I. Then it's pretty much finish the interior and connect the dots in the engine bay.

Amen to that! I've always said that you get what you pay for, but come on.....the QA1 isn't exactly cheap($). If I ever have to do this again, I won't get another QA1.

My company puts parts together that are incredibly complex and different types of materials, and even parts that change shape after being cured. That being said, we can locate a part to less than .05 mm. So if we can make parts that complex, how is this outfit making pieces with errors of 5 degrees on the plates and .25-.5 inch on holes. I refuse to believe accurately fabricating a steel bracket is that difficult. It's linear freakin' material. You make a fixture, then weld. Geesh!

Sucks to hear about the K-member, you're right about MM vs. something else. Most times you do get what you pay for, but an outfit like MM seems to be more concerned about qualtiy vs. quantity.
