alright guys (non-gender specific)

it feels as if my transmission is slipping on the low end.  The only time I remember the car having a similar issue was when it was lacking tranny fluid but i've obviously checked that out already.  How can I narrow down to see if it really IS my transmission?  Can it be anything else?

FYI's:  2001 GT mustang with over 140,000 miles on the tranny.  Stock gears, regular transmission flushes, OD seems to delay in engaging a bit longer than a year ago, engine replaced at 100,000k with an all aluminum block from an 04 explorer that has 12k miles on it or so IIRC.

When was the last time you had your tranny flushed?

well I have this dull pain on my left temple, my eyes sting a little too, and i'm tired as can be....

LOL  j/p

Actually when i'm accelerating, there is a hesitation as the car shifts from one to another.  It's most noticable in the low gears.  It's almost like the car can't decide if it wants to shift into another gear and keeps it at high rpm's then releases it and slowly shifts.  Kind of like me learning to drive a stick shift ---> waits to shift, then clutch in, then pauses while i try to coordinate my hand and my leg to shift LOL

It's probably just symptomatic of that high-mileage transmission.

You can try a flush again, and see what happens, but sometimes flushes seem to accelerate what is already a dying process.

Dr. Ralph's prognosis is to start scoping for another slushbox ASAP or start budgeting for a rebuild.

That question had nothing to do with your transmission.

thanks ralph.  that was what I have been fearing which is why I posted a thread a few weeks ago about wanting a new car. As attached as I am to my car, lack of a pair of knowledgeable hands that can turn a wrench is making me feel like i'm better off just trading in.  Lack of $30,000 is what's keeping me from doing it LOL

You can probably get the rebuild for around a grand.  I wouldn't trade in based on this.

Well surprisingly after I had a code issue to take care of (the one from my other thread), I disconnected the battery then relearned the computer.  This small action has GREATLY improved my tranny issue as it relearned the proper shift points.  Seems like I forgot to do the simple stuff before panicking
