I need to stop jumping the gun, haha.

Well, my car started just fine now! Turns out the firing order was indeed wrong. I followed the Haynes manual to a T, so I wasn't sure what happened.  I guess the part that got me confused was when the MSD distributer cap is installed, it looks reversed, so I think that's where I got it mixed up. Thankfully David, that very same link contained the firing order for a MSD cap based on it's orientation. I was looking everywhere for something like that!  Cheesy

Car ran kinda iffy for a few minutes but I assumed that was from the old gas and I was right. After a few more minutes, it cleared up the and accelerator was very responsive when I gave it some gas. Let me tell you, this exhaust sounds mean as f***. It's like the wrath of god is emerging from my tail pipes when I get on it but at idle it's pretty docile which is exactly what I wanted.

I gotta re-tighten the header bolts one last time still but after that, my car is done. I'll try and post some sound clips for you guys later on next week.

Yay!!

Damnit.

Took it to class today, and it was doing great. Sounds f'in amazing and I got a s*** ton of looks and even a few thumbs up. Only problem is this.

I just pulled my car in to check my exhaust because I felt the passenger side muffler hitting the subframe connectors every now and then but now, my entire exhaust is hanging even lower. Like, there's hardly ANY room between my exhaust and the pavement. It's kinda scary to be honest.

Looks like I'm going to have to crawl under once again and try to redo the back part. I just had one question. Is it actually possible to clamp mufflers down and have them NOT move? When I was trying to get arranged yesterday, I tightened the clamps on both sides of the mufflers as tight as I could and the muffler could still wiggle back and forth. If I can't get it tomorrow, do they sell hardware to secure the mufflers to something?

Thanks.

Find a reputable muffler shop that does welding and have them weld the f***in' things. Clamps look stupid anyways.

That will fix the low-hanging exhaust problem. If not, your rubber hangers might be shot and starting to become worn out. I've never really heard of that but it's possible.

Welding is best, and the rubber hangers can deteriorate so that they won't hold it up anymore, so to speak Cheesy

Mileage probably has a big part in it (condition of the hangers). How many miles on your car Chowdie?

Odometer stopped working around 75K. So did my tripometer, right around the same time. That was about 2 years ago. Yeah, I know, I have to get it fixed. Hell, my speedo's still off after getting the 3.73 gears installed. And that was about a year and a half ago.

Yeah, I know, I have to get it fixed. LOL

Back on subject, hangars are actually pretty well. You can see a few ribs when you bend them but they seem to be holding up rather well. I re-did the back exhaust on Tuesday and it looks MUCH better. The trick I learned is to jack up the mufflers and the flow tubes as one after you loosen all the surrounding clamps and flange nuts. After they were both jacked up, it was a matter of retightening the clamps and flowtubes while they were in place and a lot higher off the ground.

When I did that, the mufflers seemed really, really solid as opposed to when I first bolted up the exhaust, where it could move if you applied pressure to it. It dipped down a tiny bit while driving it on Wednesday but there's still plenty of room IMO. I can snap a pic for you guys if you want and hopefully you'll agree with me.

Oh yeah, and I slapped on my first PCV valve today. A LOT easier than I thought it was going to be.

Now I'm STILL trying to solve this cold start up bogging crap that has plagued my car since ownership. Here's my latest thread (meaning I've made more than one) I created on the corral.

I'd check out the thread, but remember TubGirl? Greg hasn't yet forgiven me for that. LOL
