What exhaust do you have on it? Go under it and try to locate the section where you think the noise is coming from and see if you can see where it might be coming from. Hell, shake on the pipes a bit to simulation the exhaust flowing through it and see if it sounds like what you've been hearing.

Does the noise become more pronounced at WOT?

It looks like a Mac h pipe with weld-in high flow cats, bbk shorties, and flowmaster cat-back. I'm not doing anything tonight but I may crawl under it in the morning. Like I said, I only hear the noise when the clutch disengages in 1st and 2nd.

I bet if you ride the clutch taking off in 1st gear and then do the same thing going into second gear you won't hear the noise at all. From the sound of the exhaust, it seems like you're just taking off hard, which is common with the Spec. It's all or none really. I had a stage 2 in my old LX and know it well.

Doing as mentioned above will tone down the brutal take-off and eliminate some if not all of the thrust on launch. If it disappears it's probably just loose hangers or something simple. If it's still there you've got bigger concerns.

Crawl under it to watch the exhaust and then have your wife drive it forward LOL
So another shop crossthreaded the bolts?!?! It shouldn't be difficult to adjust the hangar or make it so the exhaust isn't hitting anything, that tinny sound could be the exhaust hitting the driveshaft, grab the tailpipes and shake them to see if you can recreate it.
