I was planning on starting this thread when I first joined the site, but I honestly didn't even start working on the car until about 2 months ago. So far since I brought it home from the long haul this is what I've got done.

Things done;

Installed Clutch- LOL

Lots of other little things to make sure everything checked out, but the somewhat big thing is the clutch.

What needs done;

New Engine Harness Installed-
Drive Shaft installed-
Intake and Engine accessories Installed-
Exhaust installed and hung-

Down the road;

Sand/Prime/Paint body kit
Nitrous Kit
5 lug conversion
Cobra wheels
Cage- This is only a maybe. If I decide to take it to a couple road courses around here, I will do it. With the cage more than likely comes a new block and a blower though  Grin

Some little pics from phone, forgot digi at home

Story behind this one...Had  complete interior in it when I got it home. Come to find out, the c0ck sucker didn't run the vacuum line for the heater controls through the firewall. So this is how it sits right now. Why is it still sitting this way you ask....Well sure enough while yanking the dash out I noticed what looked to me like a engine harness routed and pieced back together by a 2 year old with scotch tape and scotch locks (yes, multiple scotch locks) So guess who's getting a new harness...

Normal wear and tear right? Old lady driven maybe?

When I picked this car up, the guys exact words were. Everything is good to go. Put the clutch in, put the engine accessories on, bolt up the exhaust and you'll be driving it in a weekend.  B*tch Slap Now I know why his phones was "disconnected" when I tried calling him a few weeks after I got it back home.

Thats all for now. I'll be getting a lot more, and better, pics of the car this weekend hopefully. Have to run to NE to pick up a '90 GT roller with a buddy of mine but should be back to do some more work.

Throwout bearing. You can't see real good in the picture, but it is torn up like a mo fo. The entire top lip is pretty much separated. Somebody was running the thing hard as hell.

As for the wiring. I have an entire wiring harness on the way for $30 so its all good. I just hate that people today are all about turning a quick buck and don't give a $hit about anything but the money. I mean come on, if I hacked this up the way he did or even knew it was in the shape it is. I would have at least let the guy purchasing know that. I'm half tempted to drive back up there and kick him square in the nutsack.

Well I don't have pics uploaded yet but I figured I would update everyone on some progress.

Quote
What needs done;

New Engine Harness Installed- Now Done
Drive Shaft installed-
Intake and Engine accessories Installed- Mostly Done
Exhaust installed and hung-

Noticed that I need a new headlight harness also because the jerk off hacked up the alternator wiring Sad, but I had an extra one laying around so no biggie there. Also located some missing vacuum parts we were needing and got the starter finally. I'll be sanding down and laying some flat black on the ground effects for now. I plan on working on getting it set up mechanically just the way I want it this summer, then getting it painted over the winter. I think I'm going to hold off on the 5lug conversion also, just because as I said I'd like to get it tuned to the exact way I want it. So, as long as nothing goes BOOM this weekend the car will be running and on the road by sunday!

Good catch Grin! Yeah I got the dash put back in but not all the way. The board on the back of the cluster(actually the flimsy plastic s***) is a little torn up on the bottom, so I tracked down another cluster to swap with. Not having that back piece secure can cause a short pretty easily.

Well, it fired up! After a lot of headaches it's finally on it's way to being back on the street. We've got finish a couple things; drop in the radiator, wire up fan, sand/prime ground FX and put on, and finish my exhaust. It feels great to finally hear that thing fire after sitting in the shop for since I trailered it home over a year ago. Needless to say I was walking around the shop with a big  Grin all weekend.

I posted a little more about it in my 'big problems' thread, which turned out to be pretty minor problems  LOL It ended up being that we just didn't have the car grounded properly, so now everything is working just like it should.

As for sound clips, i'm not sure you want to hear equal length headers + h-pipe, it resembles the sound of a stock car  Grin

As soon as the engine/tranny is broke in, for sure there will be burnout pics or vids, most definitely

How much do you think that exhaust would cost to get shipped to my place?

Looks like I won't need the exhaust man. My girl bought me some imco flows and the extension pipes so i just have to get the dumps and I'll be all set, thanks for the offer though.

I actually got to drive the car last night......around the block to the back of shop  LOL i got quite a few stares with it breathing only out of the h-pipe

Yeah its great now that it's running but honestly, probably the scariest/paranoid drive ever. Just trying to hear every single thing (little hard with no exhaust) and try and smell for anything burning  LOL while checking all the gauges (i'll be running aftermarket, cluster is chit Angry) and hanging my head out the window to make sure nothing is leaking...on top of making sure the strut didn't fly through the fenderwell seeing as it just rigged up under there. All in all though, felt great when I got out  Grin

Eh, she's alright....nah she's the best, and she's actually starting to get in to the Mustangs now that I've got mine going. I sold my '95 a week after we started dating and i bought this one in pieces so she hasn't really been around to many of them.

It's getting closer and closer. Got the new caster/cambers on and the exhaust all under the car. We still need to get the brackets mounted up all the way and finish that good stuff. I'm also needing some clips for the my rear ground effects (i'm sure those will be nice and cheap, and easy to find  Banging head on wall) not long though, not long and all.

I'n not going to post much cuz I'm tired as hell, and still hung over the Friday night a t the drags  LOL Heres a pic of how its sitting as of tonight. I just primed the ground FX in black cuz I don't have the coin for a paint job yet.

On another note...Xnutt ( a newb to the site) ran the car he just got done putting back together, last night at the stirp. He's got some minor odds and ends to do but the car seems to be running very strong.

Thanks. It feels great to actually be able to jump in it and go. There's some minor things I need to work out and I need to get it in to the alignment shop pronto.

The shop is 40x60 with 16ft sidewalls. Never big enough though  Grin

A not so good update..

Last night stopped out at Bossnutts and Xnutts place, they had been doing some finishing touches on the car since my week consist of driving, working, sleeping and if I have time I might eat...

Anyway there was a bit of an oil leak from the front drain plug in the pan, that we counted on being just a simple cross threaded bolt. We thought wrong and it seems the inner sleeve of threads is actually broken  Angry Meaning, the pan now has to be swapped. Definitely a set back, and not something I wanted to deal with right now but I'm glad we found it when we did. Bossnutt found the pieces of the sleeve in the oil pan.

There's a couple other issues right now such as the fuel sending unit I believe has taken a s***, and it seems the car is not holding the oil pressure that it was the first couple of days it was going. Hoping this is due to the fact it was losing oil, and at one time the temporary oil gauge I'm running was leaking.. and it's a POS sunpro so it could lie in the Gauge itself :crosses fingers: The car was running strong and shifting great the couple of days I drove it so I hope everything turns out to be just little bugs that we need to get worked out.

Going out to finish it up tonight, if it's not already. Hopefully everything goes smoothly...I could use it.

Well, everything went smoothly...up until Friday night that is Sad

Went to a local drag strip with some friends and instead of running my car I decided just to watch. I guess it didn't matter. I pulled out and got in to it pretty good for a little bit then backed off. As soon as I backed off I started hearing a ticking sound so I slowed down and cracked the door to see if it was the exhaust (sits low and I just got done going over a speed bump). Well, it wasn't. So far the damage looks to be just in the lifters but Xnutt is going to tear the motor down some more and make sure nothing else is tore up.

Needless to say I did not need this s*** right now. I'll update when we tear the motor down more. My goal was to have the car ready for a car show that is next weekend, go figure.
