Hi everyone, Im new to this site, Im a pretty avic Mustang fan. My dad had an 84 Mustang that had all the factory extras he could get. Sadly he gave it away...

But now I have a red 02 Mustang, stock V6. Im pretty enthusiastic about it, but I'm wondering if I should even bother trying to toy around with it, or just save up some cash for the new 05 Mustang?

The only thing I've done to my car now is put some cheap lights on the inside and a few decals. Nothing in performance.

I dont know much about adding power to a car, but I know a few things on making it some sweet eye candy. I'll show you a couple pics of my car later Smiley

Please be gentle on the flaming...I'm new Sad

Welcome to the site!

The answer to your question really depends on how much money you have to spend on it.  I'm planning on buying an '07 Cobra but until then I still sink as much money as I can into my '98 GT.  Call it an obsession but it makes me happy.  As long as the rest of my bills get paid and I can afford to go out here and there, I'll still find things to buy for my pony.  I just did exhaust and smoked headlights last month.  And without spending much money I just painted my rear brake calipers and will get around to doing the front ones in the next couple weeks as time permits.

Again.... welcome!   Wink

get rid of the air silencer (snorkel thing), drop in a K&N, get rid of decals, lighten up the car wherever possible.  Do the cheap/free stuff for sure.

The new 05 is sweet and I would love to own one. Cheesy If you want to add some power to your car I would start with underdrive pulleys. They are easy to install and you can feel the extra power right away. Wink

Welcome to the site!  If your car is relatively new, and you're thinking about trading it in soon, I wouldn't do too much to it that you can't take off- you don't want to hurt the resale value.  Like quake said, pulleys are cheap and easy to install/ uninstall.  Good bang for your buck.

If you have any specific questions, ask away!  That's what we're here for.

Yea, that was the first thing I got for my car blue, got rid of that snorkle intake and got a cold air intake, just not K&N...

Pulleys next huh? Any good sites I should look through or brandnames I should watch out for?

I was thinking of a new catback exhaust...but those can get a little costly... Undecided

I recommend steeda pullies.  they go on sale every now and then.  Though i've heard they don't make much difference on newer models as they did on the foxbodies.  I know I didn't feel any difference switching them out on my GT, but if i gained even 1hp, i'm glad i did it since it's one of the cheapest mods out there.

Welcome to our humble home! V6, V8, hell even a 4 cylinder...........you're welcome here!  We're a very diverse crowd, and we're glad you're a part of our "family". Smiley

As far as your car, do you have any pics? If it was me, I wouldn't do anything too permanent if I was looking to get rid of the car eventually. Like cara said, think of things that can be removed easily. You might wanna dress the car up with a nice set of wheels. Is the car a stick? If so, maybe you'd like a new shifter? The car sounds really nice..............I wanted a 99+ V6, but never got around to getting one. Post up some pics so we can see what ya got!  Deal

Welcome aboard!

I can't offer you any tech advice since I'm probably one of the least mechanically knowledgible people here - they only llet me stay because I have a pretty mustang!   LOL

All kidding aside, this is a great place to hang out with other 'stangers, have a good time ... and learn something in the process.
