the next time i get a tranny done i will be doing it myself. i had this guy to swap out a tranny. of course i drove my car to his house....he unbolted the tranny and found out that the other tranny that was to be put in needed a shorter driveshaft.(or so he says). so i tell him to put the old tranny back in.(it was still very driveable). when i try to crank it i only hear a hard click. so 2 days later i tow the car back to my house then my other buddy comes over(hes a really good mechanic). he tries everything to try to turn the motor by hand by the crankshaft and the tconverter bolts. it wouldnt budge for anything. he says the motor is locked up but i tell him what happened about the last person puttin it in and he says that the guy put the tranny in there wrong on purpose thats why it wont turn at all. what could the guy have done to make my car act as if its locked up? my motor has plenty of oil.(just had it changed before the attempted swap). never ran hot. never any knocks. i kept up the motor really good. been back and forth to texas to weeks in a row. oh yeah i forgot to tell you i seen when the shady mech took out the torque converter. tranny fluid was everywhere. i seen when he put it back in without adding tranny fluid back in it. could this also be the problem?

The only thing in the trans that could lock up your motor, really, would be if the convertor and or flexplate was sticking too far out and pushed on the crank, shoving it forward and eating up bearings.  Saw it happen on a modular before.

What car we talking about, and what was the transmission out of?

How was the DS supposed to be shorter?  Unless you put in an AODE from a 94-95?

nah i got tit fixed and ended up punching the so called mechanic who started on it. i got under there and looked and he left all the bolts sticking out and not even screwed in all the way. furthermore the stud was stuck in the starter. thats why i couldnt turn the crank. nightmare is over and now getting a new performance tranny.
