I finally have the cash to get some exhaust parts and the thing I want to get first are some BBK 1 5/8 long tube headers. Has anyone installed LT's in a 94/95 car before? I think I heard some people say loosen up some motor mounts, jack the motor up a bit, and they should slide right in. This true? Anyone have some experience they can lend out to me?
Lastly, would it be okay to install JUST the headers at this point? Reason being is since I work a lot these days, I can't afford to have my only car down for a significant time. You think I could just attach the LT's to the rest of the stock exhaust and then next time, swap out the mid pipe and mufflers?
Any help would be peachy, thanks.

Yeah, you are going to need a new H or X pipe for the long tubes. Do you need emissions?? If not they have some cheap non cat h or x pipes around.

x2. And they will be a pain. Unless you are on Horsepower TV or somesuch. Then everything magically fits. Bolts are never rusty. Angels sing as you install parts. You will win the lottery, be the envy of all your friends, and hot women will flock to you.

Yep, that pretty much describes me. So yeah, I guess I will have to get the mid pipe. Since I do not have emissions, I was thinking about this for an exhaust set up. I've been toying around with ideas for some time now and this looks like the strongest best at the moment. BBk 1 5/8 LT's, Dr. Gas X pipe, with 2.5 Spintech Sportsman mufflers without cats. I think it should sick and unique as s***. I've heard a car on the cookie corral with shorties, a Dr. Gas X, and the Sportsman mufflers and it sounds f'in awesome. Just imagine it with LT's. Cara, are your headers LT's? If so, got any keen advice? Lastly, I'm in need of a tune up so do you all think the spark plugs I'm going to get for my still stockish car (Autolites 24 or 25, can't remember which) will still be good when I get my new exhaust in the near future?

Oh yeah, forgot about this thread. LT's are sitting in my bedroom as we speak. As soon as I finalize my mid pipe choice, I'll be ready to rock and roll. Expect a monster "WTF did I just do?!?!?" thread in about a week or three.

Not yet. Still trying to decide if the Dr. Gas X is the way to go. Only thing I'm worried about is all the pieces it comes in and trying to make sure I can clamp them all down to ensure a leak free seal. I'm already PM'ing someone on the kookie korral and he said he clamped it without a problem which is nice to know. I got the gaskets and everything. All I need is the mufflers and mid pipe. I'll most likely order those this week.

Alright, everything is ordered and most of the stuff should arrive Wednesday. Should I look at aftermarket header bolts or stick with the ones supplied by BBK? I hear the ARP Stage 8 Locking Bolts are really good but I've heard locking bolts are a PITA to take off since, well, ya know, they lock. Any input? And before anyone says anything, I'll be using a Fel-Pro 1415 gasket instead of the one supplied by BBK.
