They are wider then a fox rearend but I don't recall how much, it would affect your wheel selection. Maybe try a search on corral about it?

That's not a horrible price. Use your backing plates to keep it drum rear. Also use your axles to keep the width the same as stock. BTW make an offer of 150 cash, money talks.
It's about 3/4" wider each side, that's why you keep your axles.

Yep, if you just throw it in there it limits you to 8 inch wheels.

I was thinking of picking it up strictly for the gears. It would save about 50% over the cost of buying gears and having them installed separately. I was planning on reusing my axles and *possibly* doing a rear disc conversion.

Unless you are mounting drag wheels to it where you can select the proper BS it is just not worth effing with the extra 3/4 inch per side.

I was planning on reusing my axles and *possibly* doing a rear disc conversion. 5 lug gives you a wider variety of wheels and can be cheap to do. I'm pretty sure I had under $200 into mine when I did it on the wagon.

No it doesn't. They are the same. Actually they are not the same, It's a slightly heavier duty unit since the T-bird is a heavier car.

No. After comparing two of them side by side with trac-loks from Mustangs, they are not different.

What did the tag read Andy, between the gear numbers, L or LS, L will refer to a standard trac-loc,like in a stang. The LS refers to special traction loc, it's possible both were used. The special look more like an Auburn since it has like 4 coils springs in the center. I can't remember if it still uses the "S" spring also though.
3L73 3LS37 or I cant remember correctly, it may be 3SL73
Dot, take a look at the tag and let us know.

Looking that way. I'm debating picking up another assload of parts to include a five lug conversion (still using drums for now) and some Cobra Rs and tars.

Chrome?? BTW I don't recall if I mentioned it that when you setup the propane torch to burn out the bushings set it to heat the bushing shell, it'll get it hot enough to "release" the bushing and once you get like two sides hot enough you'll be able to push the bushing out, it'll be like a giant black marshmallow, only way gooier and messier.

I think there are few pics of white cars with chrome rims on the corral wheel forum, there are threads in there with a bunch of pics.
