Hi guys! I'm a noob here, it's a pleasure.

I don't know what to make of my 89' LX.

The car haven't been started in 4 months (no use), so I decided to take it to the mechanic because there was a leaking in the tranny (automatic) and the overdrive cable was loose.

So I take to this guy and he claims he did the rear seals and changed the fluid. But when I was driving home the car jerked furiously when put in D. The tranny was making noises I didn't hear before and just didn't feel like the one the car had before the fix.

I called him and  he put some new mounts all around. When I'm driving home (that same day), the voltage gauge starts going up and down and the car suddenly turns off. Now the car doesn't start right up (maybe the ignition), doesn't charge and the tranny just feels awful.

I know the car is 20 years old and went trough 4 months of hibernation. But after the guy put his hand on it, it just feels horrible. I just want to punch him through the internet.

So I decided to sell it 'cause I think the seals and clutch are toasted. Too much work and I don't have the time/money.

Good decision? Or it is maybe  something simple (like the guy didn't know what he was doing, didn't fix anything)?

I'm attached to her, don't want to sell. But I fear she is dying, might as well someone puts her back to shape.
