I'm in the market for a 95+ vert v6 stang. If anybody out there has one, or has heard people talk of them, i was wondering what kind of MPG they usually get. I will also be adding whatever extras to get the most MPG possible, so if you have any experience or input, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a '99 GT, but I'm going to post anyway.  Wink

The last time I checked, I got 18 mpg.

I think monkeytool is the only posting v6 owner.

My GT used to get 18 when I drove nice.

unfortunately i am, i'd suggest getting a 96-98 since they weigh less.  and to be honest with you, the v6 don't get much better gas mileage than the gt does, so get a gt, trust me you'll regret not getting one.  i'm getting ~22 mpg.

I get around 16 or 17 mpg in mine.
That is 5 or 6 mpg better than the 89 notch I had before.
The notch ran 12.80 in the 1/4 mile all motor and had 4:10 gears, but it was my daily driver.

You can get phenomenal mileage with a GT, just stay outta the gas and let the torque work for you.

Could you elaborate more on letting the torque work for you?  You mean stay in the 2.5-3k range?

I mean exactly that, stay in the lower portion of the curve but still in the area where the V8 is efficient and you'll have great results.

I got mid 20's with 4.10s and 11.5 to 1 compression.

Actually I beat the hell outta mine with 4.10s with no issue.

Gearing actually improves mileage as far as I can tell.  Your motor gets to the effective RPM range earlier and easier.  Kinda like if you're on a 10 speed in top gear or bottom gear; You might move your legs less times in top gear, but you'll exert a lot more energy than if you start out in low.
