I always registered my '96 in another county that didn't require emission testing....It's got an off-road pipe and I never got around to putting MIL eliminators on it....When the engine light came on I just un-hooked the battery for a few seconds. |

I'm no expert but the way it was described to me is that it will retard the timing a bit but honestly I didn't see any performance drop off w/ the engine light on....It was more annoying than anything. |
