If you have not filed your taxes yet... today would be a good time to do so or file for an extension  Grin

I usually file as soon as I get all my paperwork.  I moved and forgot to change my address on some stuff so I ended up having to track down a bunch of paperwork...grrrr.  I'm still bringing home 1500 bucks, even after making an untaxed 5 grand with tallmanphoto (1099misc) and another 1500 (1099misc) from winning that camera from canon.

I always do my federal but my state tax confused me in '04 so I haven't filed it since.

I wonder if they're gonna be mad?  Smiley

I really should round up those W2's and get someone looking at that, huh?

Yep!  LOL

And O.M.G!!!  I went over to a friends tonight to finish up her son's taxes that I started the other day but had to wait on him for some info.  Well, she decided to log on to TurboTax and see if she couldn't get him a bigger refund by "adjusting" some of his numbers.  I wouldn't be surprised if he gets audited.  Crazy

I'm surprised the government hasn't redflagged people claiming "head of household" because i know a s***load of folks filing under that who shouldn't be just because it gives them a bigger refund.

Vanessa does ours early every year.

But unfortunately, she is scared to death of Big Brother, so she probably leaves alot of money on the table for deductions.

head of household means you earn more than half the income and pay for more than half the cost of a qualifying person, generally a dependant.  Too many people assume that because they're single and providing a house for THEMSELVES, they can file as head of household.

Tax question, since I'm now back in school, do I get some tax breaks, meaning more back next year?
