Sounds like I missed quite a bit elsewhere.

No matter what I feel about this man's political views, I will do everything in my power to ensure that he is safe when he is in town.  And since his grandmother died, that again will be very soon.

I only judge people once I know them.
I seriously doubt that. Remember our little discussion about the school systems where you're like "Egads! High amount of Hispanics in that school! You won't catch my kid in there!" And you're little poor people = stupid comments? Yeah, sure as s*** sounds like you don't judge....

Whats sad is the number of people calling us racist for simply not being an Osama supporter.
How many people here claimed Chris is a racist? How about Surf? David?

Don't be surprised at the flak you get for what you routinely post. You see, Surf has the right attitide. He made it perfectly clear that he did NOT want Obama winning. And what does he reply with? Does he go "this s***s rigged, it's all about race!"? No, he  replies with:

I hope for the sake of the country that he does a good job, but from what I have seen of him, I am not holding my breath.

He has his doubts like many people but he doesn't automatically assume Obama is going to f*** it up and he's optimistic; that's the right attitude. I'm sorry, but people throwing in the towel already need to STFU. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE knows what is going to happen during his presidency. For people to claim that he's going to be terrible is absolutely asinine. This may hurt some feelings but at this point, I really don't give a s*** beacuse obviously some of you simply don't get it yet.

Oh, and Kevin, you don't know why this whole African American president thing is a big deal? Maybe because, I don't know, this is the FIRST time it's happened in the history in the United States of America? Why shouldn't this be acknowledged? Are you forgetting that African Americans used to be slaves in this country? Good f***ing lord. Roll Eyes

And don't give me this s*** he won because he's black. No, he won because this country is obviously TIRED of the current bulls*** we're in. Biggest economic crises in history, record breaking foreclosures, and so on. McCain seemed almost identical to what Bush supported and Bush's ideas obviously didn't really pan out well so are you saying that a change of ideas was NOT the driving force behind this election but race was? Laughable.

You show me a black person that voted for Obama because he's black and I'll show you a white person that voted for McCain because he's white.

I think i live my life by this motto... "Life is never as bad as it seems, and rarely is it ever as good as it seems"

Who thought Bush was gonna suck as bad as he did??  So who knows what the future holds with Obama...

On a related note, i was watching David Allen Griers new show "Chocolate News"  funny as s***, BTW...  He did say in his monologue last night "This is our chance, he better not f*** it up for us"

Kevin, you called for the death of children.  Should we just call you a f***ing ass hole instead?  I made it quite clear I didn't want Obama in office but, unlike you, I only pray he's NOT killed.  It'd be a horrible thing for this country.

Oh come on.  I didn't wish for that.  Go ahead and find my exact quote if you want.  I was being overly sarcastic just pushing buttons of Obama supporters.

You didn't wish for it?

That is, except for the usual short list of f***tards at the corral.  "Reprehensible" is but one of the words that keeps coming to mind.   I'd be pretty OK with it if I didn't think they were the just the tip of the real world iceberg.

Hey, at least I'm not part of the problem this time, right?

He was not the person that should have been elected..  He got elected not because he was the better person, but because he's black..  Why did this election have so many new voters? If race doesn't have anything to do with it, why is the media harping on the fact he's black?  Do I care he's black? no I don't cause if Powell or Rice was running,  I would have probably cast my vote for them.. Obama doesn't have it at this point and time.. maybe 2012 he would have.. but not right now..

But I will sit back and watch him fail, watch him NOT do what he promised, and watch him turn this place into a socialist country.. And in 2012, I will try like hell to vote him out..

Like it or not, he ran the better campaign, and was the better candidate.

Honestly, it was inevitable.  Bush created alot of bad vibes for alot of people, and whether or not they were his fault, he failed to make people understand what caused some of the problems we have (Barney Frank/Pelosi/Reid and the whole banking scandal BS) and so he is going to have to pay for that.

I didn't think McCain could win, but that didn't mean I was going to stay at home on election day anyway.  I will freely admit that I was voting against Obama and not for McCain, but that is the problem with the GOP candidates.  There were far too many people voting against Obama and not voting for McCain, because he was a piss-poor candidate.  On the other hand, 90% of people voted for Obama, and not against McCain.

Were there people that voted for Obama because he was black?  Sure.  But there were people that voted against him for the same reasons.

I hope the guy does a jam up good job, but I'm not holding my breath.

I do feel that this gives us a chance to kick the GOP in the ass and get some real conservatives in office.  I am dumbfounded by how many people think that the GOP is too far right and needs to move closer to center.

I've got news for you, Here is how the chart looks:

Obama-----DNC-----McCain-----GOP-----|center|----RINO's-----Real Conservatives-----Bobby Jindal Smiley

I will guarantee you that I will never vote for a republican again if they decide to move farther left.  As it is, they already are where the DNC was 15 years ago.

One interesting note:  I've seen alot of people crowing about this being the death of the GOP and that the Democrats will reign for thousands of years and all this other bulls***.

I would like to point out that while the margin of victory for Obama was without a doubt, Obama only got a few hundred thousand more votes than Bush did in 2004, and that the record turnout that was expected for this election fell well, well short.  More people voted in 2004 (and I believe also in 2000) than did this year.

Lots of conservatives could not bring themselves to vote for McCain because he epitomizes the term RINO.  I also of many democrats that couldn't pull the lever for Obama due to him being so far left.

Here is to hoping for a stronger GOP in 2012, with a ticket led by Bobby Jindal, and for Obama to have as much luck as humanly possible for the next four years.  Like the guy or not, he's going to be presiding over the worst years of this country in close to a century, and he's going to need all the help he can get to not royally f*** it up.

I don't get that either how the GOP thinks they can or should portray themselves democrats lite, and think that is a good thing. I've heard a lot of good about Bobby Jindahl and how he's getting things turned around over there, and how he's already being mentioned as a candidate for '12.

I guarantee a lot of black people (mostly poor with low IQ) voted Obama simply because he's black.

I have never seen politically active black people here in Detroit, and the month or two before the election, everyone had Obama shirts, Obama hats, Obama pins, you name it.

One of the streets that my hospital's shuttle bus goes down on its route was totally lined with Obama signs in the front yards.

I read on another site about a guy who had an "Nobama" sign on his car and some thugs on the freeway break-checked him and basically forced him off the road.

I hope to God Obama does good his first term because if he f***s things up badly and we get another president and Obama tried running anyways, there's going to be mass chaos in '12.

Well Dave, you guys have said this several times, but it's a double edge sword.

If we're to believe that 50% of the blacks voted Obama simply because he's black, we have to assume that 50% of whites voted against him for the same reason.

Either side playing the race card (Which you are doing) validates the other's race card.

Better to just leave it alone, otherwise you'll find yourself having to agree with Sharpton and Jackson.

I have to say, that's one of the reasons I voted Dem. Hell, I actually voted straight Dem because I favored most of the Democratic candidates in my state anyways.

It's seriously been 8 years of the same crap, and Clinton did a bang-up job last time in office, hopefully the party can do even half the good he did.

Clinton was tanking, hence the Republican take over of congress in '94, after that his popularity really started coming up. I think maybe we need Newt back in DC in some capacity.
