In-laws got us tickets to see U2 and it was awesome! We had a great time. Saw more trailer trash on the way to Raleigh than I've seen here in SC in some time. Or as my friend referred to that stretch of 95 and 40 as the twilight zone We figured we would have enough time if we got here around 5:30 to park, walk around and just hang out. WRONG. We got to the exit at 5:30 and we didn't get into the stadium until 8:30. It took us 3 hours to go 6 miles. We ended up missing Muse but U2 didn't go on until 9pm so it worked out well. Except for the fact that we had started running out of gas as soon as we exited the highway The whole 3 hours we kept worrying about running out of gas. Then we waited for 2 hours after the concert for traffic to settle down so we wouldn't be sitting around idling and wasting gas. All in all, a pretty good day!

They'll be here next wednesday and I'd like to go. I just don't know anyone that's remotely into them that doesn't already have tickets. I could go by myself I guess.

U2?!? I am SO jealous! I didn't even know they were in my neck of the woods...dang!
This band routinely gives the most powerful performances and lyrics...stuff that you can't help but feel and it makes you think. I absolutely love them and they are number one on al of my various playlists!
No videos or pics?!
PS: Trailer trash is everywhere.

We saw them in Charlotte a few years ago. Phenomenal concert. I would have liked to go this time around but I had to attend a conference in San Diego, where I fell off an aircraft carrier and about broke a kidney.

PS: Trailer trash is everywhere. No kidding, more and more people it seems could give a s*** how they look when they go out in public. I fell off an aircraft carrier and about broke a kidney. You're going to have to share the rest of that story.

U2 played at Raymond James last night and I've heard it was pretty good. It was a lot more packed than I thought because I work at the mall that is right next to the stadium so instead of paying $25 for parking, a lot of people parked free at the mall and tried to hail cabs. Unfortunately, a LOT of people had this idea and our booth area had a s*** ton of people waiting for cabs. At one time the estimated wait time for a cab was an hour and a half so we had to deal with the tards that were pissed off they had to wait. Boohoo, get here sooner then.
I was still there when the concert goers returned and from what I've heard, it was damn good. I even heard Muse opened for them and I've heard Muse themselves are a great live band so it sounds like it was a pretty bad ass concert. It should be, since the low end tickets were $100+.

We could hear Muse playing while we were stuck in traffic Rebeccas mom bought us the $250 per person tickets as a birthday and our anniversary gift We were close to the stage but not enough for me to pay that kinda money!

I fell off an aircraft carrier and about broke a kidney. You're going to have to share the rest of that story. Seriously We had a dinner function on the deck of the ship where they kept refilling our wine glasses. After the second refill you stop noticing and keep drinking. Then we went down into the ship and flew around in these things: You'll notice that 2 of the 3 are actually upside down. The first time we flew in it we actually tried to shoot the bad guys. The second time we said screw that and just flew around upside down and doing barrel rolls. Great fun. With all the food and booze on board I'm surprised I didn't get sick. Adrenaline I suppose. Then, as we were leaving the boat I fell down a step or two, maybe five, and landed sideways against the railing at the bottom. I was able to get back to the hotel okay but the next day it felt like I broke my kidney. It still hurts right now and without motrin around the clock the pain is intolerable. I suspect I actually broke one of the lower ribs.

I've always considered them to be on the list of mega douches therefore I don't give them any of money. Doc, I've been exactly where you were and felt really lucky I didn't hurl after the experience with no alcohol involved.

I can't say I agree with their political views, either, but as entertainers they are top notch. That was easily the most kick-ass show (meaning complete package) that I've seen in the last 10 years.

True, Bono goes around saying how much more money these countries should be giving to Africa and whoever, meanwhile he has his accountants hiding as much of the money he earns from his government so he doesn't pay taxes on it; seems a wee bit hyporitical to me.
