it was fun, and great to see and meet a living legend, but man...I've seen pre-teens play Chuck Berry better than Chuck Berry can anymore.  Dude's almost 80 so he gets a lot of slack, but I'd say he was only really "on" about 20% of the time.   Which then gave me time to plot my moves in case the drunk-off-his-ass loudmouth troublemaker nearby made trouble in my space.  I told the coworker who was with me "if I start swinging, back out of the way and meet me at the car" LOL.

Is he related to Marion Berry? Rick Barry?

Pretty cool that  he even bothers to go out at his age.  I've gone out to the House of Blues and had similar experiences with the loud mouth drunks, kind of ruins your night, but drunks are a whole lot easier to beat the hell out of.  They are just unpredictable.

I hate crowds at music shows... ruins it for me... The perfect venue for a band/performer to me is a bar with 20 people in it.

You'd probably like a show by the Asylum Street Spankers - they're acoustic so they demand everyone STFU while they're playing.

MFE forgot to mention his coworker was a chick, that's why he didn't ask her for backup.  I could throw some punches, but I'd probably cry like a girl if I was hit...

BB King rocked the house at the last show we saw - even though he sat on a chair to play.  We've met him a couple times and he's so gracious to his fans.  We've seen many great shows in various venues.

One of my favorites is getting up to the front at the Robert Plant show.  I've made the executive decision in parting with some of our LPs that the Zep stays.  I don't care if we have to buy a record player.

Texas band right there. You really shouldn't be listening to anything from here.

Back it up, Chuck.  My favorite guitarist is Chris Duarte and the first time I saw him was at The Steamboart > 10 years ago.

That was right around the same time when 'My Way Down' was big if memory serves.

Saw him there, too. Holy crap! You and I may have breathed the same oxygen (as well as other environmental contaminants in the room that night).

Was he wearing a kilt with running tights?

The kilt sounds familiar but I don't know about the tights.

That's one of their charms....they don't really act like Texans.
