Cara's Law of 40 hours.     Crazy

I'm not sure how this happens, but no matter how far along I am with the car or how much work done, I always have around 40 hours left.

Take yesterday for example.  I pulled the front seats.  It was more difficult than it should have been... The guy who welded in the subframe seat brace welded after he put the bolt in, and it was impossible to get the impact socket on straight, and the tabs kept me from being able to get a wrench on there.  I rounded the nut a bit on my first attempt, then pounded the crap out of a cheap socket with narrow walls to get it to fit on.  Next, take a power seat in it's all-the-way-back position and take away any ability to power the sucker.  Can't fit a socket on, even a small profile sucker.  No 17 mm gear wrench, either.  1/12th of a turn at a time, and those bolts are some long mo-fos.   B*tch Slap

Next we move to the front calipers.  I decided to paint them black while I had everything off.  While painting, I notice a torn piston boot on the passenger side (which someone told me about a couple months ago and I conveniently forgot).  Yaayyy!  More work.  It's funny, bet even since this project started, I always seem to have 40 hours of work left because either I didn't account for something or something pops up (like mold, etc).     Blam

I'm not trying to complain, I realize these things happen, I just find it amusing.  At least I'm getting things accomplished now... I think.  LOL

really.... i know what you mean.  There's always that one thing that royally f-s up your project.

I remember back in like 01 when I put the gt40 motor in my 87gt... I had the entire project licked... when to slap the T5 back in and suddenly I couldnt find the f-ing clutch fork pivot bolt! HAH!  I pressure washed the tranny in the back yard and somehow that *** damn thing fell off.  Of course no one has them... had to wait a week for a delivery from ford and 20 bucks later Wink

Your law is similar to mine.  Except in my case, it's the law of 168 hours.  That's a week for all you slow peeps.

Usually what happens with me is I just get so disgusted with my projects that I say f*** it and don't touch them until I get a wild hair again.

Since that's pretty easy, it'll only take me 5 days.

On topic, when frustation sets in, sometimes tools tend to fly in various locations in my backyard.  I can chuck a breaker bar pretty damn far.
