So we installed a 130amp alt with a 1 7/8" overdrive pulley on a friends car. We started it up for 30-45 seconds, and no change in the volt gauge. I felt the alt, and it felt fine. I felt the alternator pulley, and it was "leave a blister on kevin's finger" hot.
Also, we noticed before installing it, there was a slight squeak as we turned the 1 7/8" overdrive pulley by hand. Could the pulley be on to tight maybe? Any other ideas?
