It sure sounds like a strong N/A motor. That 11.07 to 1 compression is killer. :O When do you plan on getting it dyno'd Huh

400RWHP is a tall order when you only have 331 cubes to play with. I say you're gonna fall short.

Your combo wont make it. Your cam is too big for your heads. I would get the heads ported and polished to add to the combo.

If you don't mind my asking, where did you get that cam? I'm currently in the market for something along those lines for the 358-421 build up.

BTW, my money is on you hitting the 400 mark.

Him or Ed Curtis are some of the best I've read about over on the Corral.  Jay sometimes gets flagged for acting like an ass in some of his posts but I'm sure they're both very, very good at what they do.  You really can't go wrong.

OP, 400 horses or not, that will be a pretty damn stout motor.

Somewhat off topic, but how do you like your Dr. Gas X and Spintech mufflers?  I've pretty much decided that's the way I'm going to go with me car but it never hurts to have another opinion from someone that has it.

Michelle,

Yeah, that's him.  I sent Jimmy to him for a custom for the NA 308.  It's similar to my motor, but full race.  It's sporting a GT40 intake and is running 10.90s @120+ with a 1.40 sixty foot. (all motor)  Matt P is also running Jay's cam in true street.  It's bottom 9s now.

Call Jay Allen, you can download a spec sheet from his site, fill it out, email it to him and he'll get right back to you. After I filled out the sheet he said he wanted to talk so I called him, he spent 45 minutes on the phone with me to make sure I'd get what I was after. He said anytime you have a question about it call me. So, yesterday (Saturday) afternoon I called because of a question I had. 20 minutes later he called back and spent another 15 minutes talking about what I was doing and walked me through the procedure explaining as he went. Not to bash Ed Curtis, but my buddy who has an Ed cam in his car happened to be over and he said "that's incredible, for customer service I think I went with the wrong guy."

RWHP, maybe not. But I think it will be close. At 331 cubic inches, you're needing to make about 1.5 hp per cubic inch.

With only 11:1 and not knowing the cam specs i'd say the goal is lofty but certainly do-able.  But if the cam is right on, and the cam guy said it can happen you just might get there.

Did Jay do the cam?

Ed Curtis did the cam @ www.flowtechinduction.com

sorry ive been so slow to respond to this but i forgot about it.  also i never got any e-mails about this post.

the car dynoed 387 RWHP and 393 RWTQ N/A

on 100 shot it put down 487 RWHP and 530 RWTQ

also i have not hooked up the anderson pms yet so its just fuel and timing adjustments on the dyno also the car's rev limiter hits at like 6100 Sad

so far my best has been a 11.45 @ 123 with a 1.63 60'ft and .003 R/T this is on a set of 17" MT et streets

the car weighed 3395 with me in it   Shocked

also the car only has 10.7 to 1 compression  not 11
the heads have been ported and they have upgraded valves and springs as well as ti retainers and ti keepers

more to updates to come later
