Tell me what you guy would recommend for my setup. I want a good set of head gaskets. I'm going to using gt40 heads on a stock 90 302 block.

I don't know which gasket set..........I buy all of mine individually. As far as gaskets, a really good set would be the Fel-Pro 1011-2

I don't need to buy a gasket "set" but it would be easyer. If someone has there own "set" they made there self (with indivdual gaskets) I'm open for that also. I'm checking out that Fel-Pro 1011-2 set now.

I don't know what I was thinking by what I posted above, but the 1011-2 is a head gasket.........not a gasket set.

IDK if felpro makes a total gasket set....you may need to buy some kind if head gasket set, and intake gasket set....most likely two or three part numbers especially if you have a cobra/explorer intake

Be careful on the FelPro 1011-2. There is also one that is 1011-1. One is used for Aluminum heads and the other is steel. I don't remember the one for steel heads offhand.
As for intake, I always use the Fel Pro 1250 gasket. BTW if you need a TB/EGR gasket, get the one for the Explorer intake, any year with a 5.0, as they use a 65mm TB instead of the smaller H.O. unit.

There's lots of ways to go, Joe. The Ford Racing gaskets are good, as are the Fel-Pro 1011s. However, when it comes to value for the money, the gasket set (FEL-KS2337) seems to be the best way to go. If you buy your gaskets individually, you'll end up spending more than that. Trust me, been there, done that. That kit looks really good.

Do want you want Joe, but the Head Gaskets in that kit suck. The Fel-Pro 1011's are like the OEM gasket with the silicone around the water jacket ports. I haven't had any luck with the head gaskets in that kit (non silicone). If you want, I've got that gasket set I'll sell you very cheap. (30 bucks)
The stock intake Gaskets would probably work, but the Explorer lower does have bigger ports than the stock intake had. i don't know how much room there is to play with the stock intake gaskets. I suppose you could trim them if needed. I usually get a gasket kit for all the misc gaskets, and get the 1250's and 1011's seperately. It is about the same price as buying everything seperately, plus you have some extra gaskets.

Just PM'd you about the Gaskets Joe. Also, I just took one of the intake gaskets out of the kit and matched it up to a stock Explorer lower. It will work. The only reason I run the 1250's are because I always end up porting the intake and heads. the 1250 has a bigger opening, that is all, and the silicone around the water ports. So if you intake ins't ported, go with the stock gaskets. They'll work just fine.
