Not surprising, the GT decided to give me grief as usual.

This project has taken eons because we checked, rechecked, and checked again just to make sure everything was done correctly, all connections were plugged in, etc etc etc.

The car was VERY hard to start. It probably took a good 30 attempts. It acts like it's a timing issue (as stated, the car doesn't wanna start, and when it does, it sort of shakes, runs rough, and even backfired through the airbox several times). Having said that, I feel the issue lies within the fuel delivery. I say this, because the damn fuel pump keeps "cycling" (you know, the noise it makes when you first turn the key on). It did this 5 times in around 15 seconds. The pump is a Walbro 255 LPH, and although it's 4 years old, it has less than 500 miles on it (don't ask).

The car has spark, I'm 100% sure on that. This is just too weird. I had it in my mkind that we'd start the car, and that would pretty much be it. Now I'm all pissed off, and I wanna hurt the car. Suggestions?

Take it to the local Ford dealer and say "fix it." Come back when they "fix it."

That car is nothing but trouble, best of luck to ya!

The car is the devil, Dan. You know that.  Crazy

Seriously, I'd never rely on a Ford (or any other) dealer to unf*** that car. I'd burn it to the ground before even considering letting someone else touch it. Maybe that's part of the problem.  LOL

I had gremlins in my LX and nobody could figure out what it was. I took it to the dealer and it took them 1 1/2 months of d***ing around before they finally flew in some specialist to look at it because nobody in the dealer could figure it out either. It was the computer and part of the wiring harness where someone hacked my alarm system in very unprofessionally. I gave them one computer for a junkyard and it turned out it was water-damaged. Strike one. I bought a new one from Ford and my car fried it. Strike two. They threw in a third one and it finally worked.

The kid that now owns my car has not had one mechanical problem since the day he owned. That car just hated me.

Recheck the distributor and the wires, as well as the injectors (if injected).

Bruno has something similar and the distributor was out (first time) and then had bad injectors.

Are all 8 cylinders firing?

You posted that without telling us what the problem was?

For shame. Sad

Distributor was probably off

Michelle was working on it,  Jerry was the one that got it running right.  It took a man.

Now WTF was it?

LMFAO, thanks Chris.........I can always count on you.  Deal

David nailed it. The distributor was f***ed in relation to where I had the wires on the cap. Runs like a champ now, although I STILL haven't uploaded vids. I'm slackin.  Undecided

A little late to the party but I was going to suggest timing...backfiring through the intake = plug firing while intake valve is still open = misfire...

Glad you got it going!

I'm guilty of the 'gas in the tank' problem. Sad
