looking for opinions, advice. I have 1994 GT and I'm looking for more horsepower. I realize there are many ways to accomplish this. I'm considering going the cubic inch route. Whats involved with putting in a 351 cu in? Oil pan, motor mounts, exhaust headers, will I need to change the x pipe, will my T5 trans bolt up, what about all accessories, alternator, p/s,a/c,smog pump, intake an hood clearance. I've tried to think of everything, but ... I've learned there is always somethin else.          My other thought was to put a stroker kit in the 302 block and eliminate all the shoehorn work of installing a 351. Will appreciate any feedback, thanks.

347 stroker will help to eliminate the problems of the 351w transfer. If it were any other car....man....It would be SO much easier. The computer will not accept very many changes. So you will need an older computer and wiring harness IIRC. Major nitemare to modify the 94-95's....I have a 95 cobra, and you have to get a special cam just to upgrade so it will ilde right....Uggh!  NEver again!

I'm not trying to go against what you're saying, but we *just* did the 351W swap in my '95. Granted, a couple of things had to be revised, but I'm using my stock T4M0 processor as well as my stock wiring harness. The car runs better than I ever dreamed it would.........so much, in fact, that we're upgrading to a 427 stroker. It had more power now than it EVER has (the car formerly had a 347 stroker), and my only regret is not doing it sooner.

If you decide to research this white horse, lemme know and I'll make a list of all the stuff you'll need.

Michelle would know! Grin  I knew SOMEONE on here had done it before. You help him out Michelle. I am operating off what I have "heard".   I do know that I put in a Steeda #19 cam and it runs good. Idle's good etc. But I have heard that to do anything more, you have to upgrade the puter in them. Huh

 Deal

The Steeda #19 is a great cam! The computers in our cars are the biggest shortcomings........but there are ways around that. Get this.........I was running an E303 cam in my first combo. Those are .498" lift. Car stalled at every stop light, ran like a beast at the track, but just didn't wanna idle. Now I'm running an XFI stroker cam with .579 lift. Car idles so well I can walk away as it runs for the first time in 8 years! The diff? Lobe separation, amongst other things. There are definitely ways to fool the computer.  Grin

P.S. You can do pretty much everything short of a blower without being forced to upgrade your EEC.

Kool!  The big blue bottle is the next stop for me....Only about a 125 shot or less. That is after I get some tires that stick.  But I gotta get another job first.  Need money yesterday. Undecided

Had the 125 shot on my 67 for about 7 years now. It's plenty for me. Wink
