Here's a couple pics of the one I put into the 331 I am building. The block is a 1968 289 block and the cam is ground on a smaller base circle. If you are familiar with what a regular roller cam looks like for a 5.0 then you can tell the significant difference between the two. If anyone has a pic of a regular roller cam please post it here for comparison for those that may not be familiar.

Aussie XAXB, That cam looks odd compared to a "regular roller cam". I never seen a retro-fit before.. Here are some pictures of my new cam.

Cool! Thanks for posting them.
Yeah, when I opened the box I thought this cam looked awfully "cute". LOL. I had never seen a cam like that.

I am expecting it to do very well with the components it will be working with. I am just glad it is made out of billet instead of cast.

Not trying to knock you too hard, but that seems kinda weak for a roller cammed 331 And yeah it's cute! I said that about 3 years ago when i purchased one for my 66 289. Is that a 1/4 race cam? LOL J/K! How's the buildup coming? This winter has been plagued with a ton of emergancy jobs at work and I haven't had a chance to get any of my projects started, let alone getting them anywhere close to finished!

This car is the wife's car and is not going to be incredibly hotrodded. This cam should give plenty of low and mid range torque which she will have a ball with. Also, I went with the roller because, as you know, there will be more lift at a lower degree of rotation than with a flat tappet cam. With the valve being open wider longer, with the same duration lobes, it will help take advantage of the amount of lift, even with the short duration. I wanted her to be able to have that "little extra". This is not a 1/4 mile screamer, but will plant your ass in the seat when you are driving around town, which is what the wife will enjoy experiencing. The rear gear is a 3.25:1 and with 26 inch tires. That should help her move along at mid and upper RPM. We should be finding out in May what it does in the quarter mile. Yeah, if I were building the car for myself I would have a slightly longer duration cam in it. WOW!! Did I say 122 deg seperation angle? It's 112 deg. of course. Steve

122 would be WAAAAYYYYYYY wide of a lobe sep! I've seen Pro Stock cams in the neighborhood of 116 to 119.
