  got a 96 explorer 5.0 roller motor i want to do a rebuild for it's going in my 85 gt with carb using the explorer heads. called summit for a rebuild kit for it they said they didn't have one and a 85 5.0 roller rebuild kit wouldn't work but couldn't tell me why. i'm wanting to use the 96 block, crank, rods, lifters, heads and maybe push rods has any did a rebuild on this motor, if so what kit

I don't see why the rebuild kit wouldn't for for it. One thing I would change on the explorer engine is the cam, the rest is good to go.  I currently have an explorer intake and heads on my stang. Wink
