«

i was changning my oil today and coolant started dropping out from around where the oil filter screws on, i can't isolate where it is coming from, unless its that housing. any help would be of service. this is on my 96 GT 4.6L i know this goes into tech, but i need to find out fast where it is coming from.

upper intake leaking down? Aren't the uppers made of plastic on that year motor? They are prone to cracking...

yeah i believe they are plastic, but i'm finding no coolant dripping down, its small drops, its on the driver side where my oil filter is located at. i'd take pictures of it, but i can't locate my camera atm

There's an adapter that the oil filter bolts to. It also has coolant going through it. Bad gasket. Simple fix.

Oh, the adapters are made out of crappy metal and crack sometimes too. But usually you get oil, not coolant.

ralph i'm only dropping coolant and its coming around that metal ring, that goes around the oil filter, so its that gasket, then?

If it's leaking coolant around only the oil filter something is totally weird. You should clean the whole area up and have someone run it and see where it's coming from. It's going to be the housing or the gasket to the BLOCK, not the lip of the filter.
If I were you I'd check my dipstick real quick too. If you're leaking coolant out where the oil should be, you may have bigger problems.

the coolant and oil aren't mixing, otherwise i would have seen it when i changed my oil.

Then it has to be either that housing or the gasket between the housing and the motor. There's no coolant under the oil filter gasket. If there is, then they are indeed mixing.
