I've been looking around for a TFS stage 1 cam for my combo. The stage 1 cam has these specs:
221/225 degrees duration @ .050, .499/.510 lift

I've been offered a Custom lunati cam with these specs:
intake .502 with 218 duration at .50
exhaust .522 with 224 duration at .50

108 lobe seperation

Do you guys think this cam would be good for my setup or should I keep looking for the stage 1?  Huh

go with the lunati setup

n/a correct?

if you want to step up and spray it at any time, there is decent lobe separation....not enough to hurt you if you dony

also....run a good valve spring/retainer/keeper. get yourself some good roller rockers (harland sharp) and a stud girdle. also get hardened pushrods.

years of dependable performance Grin

I have never ran the TFS stage 1, but I like the Looks of that Lunati cam.  MY 89 has and anderson Blwoer cam, and it is 218/226  .544 lift.  This thing screams.  I think based on you combo, you'd be happier with the lunati.  Just my opinion.

I agree with peter on this one.Smiley

That being said I am not a huge fan of the TFS 1 cam myself. I would run a dumb ole E cam before that one.

I plan on staying n/a for a while. I might add an supercharger after a few years. Would this cam be good for both?

In my opinion yes, but it depends on the valve events.  The anderson cam I'm running is actually a blower cam, but I'm running it N/A.  It put down 290/330 at the wheels with an explorer intake and ported gt-40 heads with a blown Head gasket!  I'll put a blower on next summer or so after I get my tuning issues resloved.

Your "custom cam" spec's are real close to the Lunati retro-fit cam I am getting.......

intake .522 with 215 duration at .050
exhaust .522 with 224 duration at .050
lobe seperation angle of 112*.

The 108* lobe seperation angle will make your power more peaky and also reduce your vacuum at idle. A wider angle will bring your idle vacuum up. But with the wider angle you will also see more lower end torque and a slight loss of upper RPM HP.

It's really up to what characteristics you want for how you plan to drive the car. I am going with the .522 lift because that is the most lift I feel safe with for the pistons I am using. The duration is the most I would care to go with in order to keep the powerband in the low to mid RPM range, and the 112 LSA will let the engine idle nice and have vacuum. That's how I picked my cam.

Good luck,
   Steve

That Lunati cam looks like it might work well with gt40 heads.
I know the FMS B cam works very well too.

Nitrous friendly by the look of it-

e-cam, cobra/gt-40/exploder intake, and a set of ported gt-40p heads... should net you a nice low 12 pass, high 11's with a good driver.

I will not go down E-town to get those numbers.. Atco is the only place to set a record or set best ET's...

HAHAAHHA!!!

When was the last time you were at ATCO?  Did you get there after they put up that STUPID WALL?  Go there on a test and tune night and you can take a swim at the starting line.  EVERY SINGLE STREET CAR ROLLS THROUGH THE WATER BOX.  ATCO sucks ass.

that's why you go to a track rental and put slicks and skinnies on your car.. Atco is WAY  better then E-town, that's why everyone goes there to set records...
