I'm looking for a brand new M-6010-A50 block to start my engine build. I heard CCM had most of them, but their website and phone are kaput. Any other ideas where to get one? It's just the plain ol' service replacement 5.0 block, nothing fancy. I just want a new one to avoid the inevitable machine shop headaches.

Both sold out late 2004. That's about the time they were discontinued.

I'm holding onto Fred's original motor as long as I own the car, because I know it would be like pulling teeth trying to get a replacement block if or when this 306 ever took a major dump.

I have a bare block and fresh cut crank if you wind up going the machine shop route.. I have no idea how I'd get it to you, but for $100 it's yours.

I'm looking into a Sportsman. It looks like I might still be able to get the A50 from Summit for $590 delivered, and I think I might be able to get a Sportsman for around $850 thru my local dealership hookup.

As I stated in the PM I sent you, Bennett ran out about the same time last year that everybody else did. You need to do your homework before trying to make it out like you know what you're talking about.

Yes sir. Both the A50 service block and the B50 sportsman are finish machined and ready to rock.

Doesn't Ford still sell off leftover 302 and 351W blocks and whatnot through their Ford Racing program? Or was that just longblocks?

The A50 block was discontinued in late 2004 and removed from the FRPP catalog. At that time all remaining FRPP inventory was sent to Central Coast Mustang. That means the only place to get the blocks is either CCM (who I can't seem to contact) or any dealer who happened to have one in stock when they were discontinued and hasn't sold it yet.
