I actually enjoyed waxing my car, though it was a tedious and time-consuming process.

Ditto. I went balls crazy on it. I would put masking tape over all the plastic panels I didn't want to bother cleaning later. Waxed some spots 2x. I would wax my Mustang in the garage at night with the overhead light on and a spotlight shining on wherever I was waxing. I did it at night because it sucks balls slaving away waxing a car when it's hot during the day. When I was done I'd just leave the spotlight on shining at the ceiling of the garage, and you could see a perfect reflection of everything in the garage in my car (it was black). Ohhh it was beautiful.

I miss my car.  Cry

I used to use Carnauba (sp?) Turtle Wax.

The paint had been peeling for a year or so, and I just got it painted so it will be another 2 months before I can wax it again.  I actually enjoyed waxing my car, though it was a tedious and time-consuming process.

That was the reason for your paint peeling. That wax is notorious for it.
